  1. Especially since Sonny is now happy to release all sort of mediocre post-sixties stuff in bootleg sound. Of course we have seen some great stuff in the Jazz Icons Live in Denmark '65 & '68 DVD. I wonder if that release required Sonny's approval.
  2. Also known as After The Bridge in Japan. The most recent budget reissue from 2015 (SICP 4192~3) contains a brand new DSD remastering from 2014. It is still available here: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/SICP-4192 and here http://www.ebay.nl/itm/SONNY-ROLLINS-AFTER-THE-BRIDGE-JAPAN-2-CD-Ltd-Ed-C94-/352082812057?hash=item51f9c55c99:g:~QwAAOSwPe1ULOGf
  3. Would you imagine they hug each other at the end?
  4. I have the Elvin Jones SHM-CDs and I think these albums stand on their own pretty well, though the excellence of the new remasters might be a factor in this. It is just that the later Blue Note albums aren't as good as Puttin' It Together, The Ultimate, Poly-Currents, Coalition, and Genesis. I never enjoyed the Lighthouse albums. Perhaps I should listen to them again.
  5. I'm glad you enjoy them. I could have had two Solids for the price of one second hand SHM-CD, but I was really only after the Booker Little and I love the sound of the Bernie Grundman Sonny Clark SHM-CD.
  6. It said 3 to 7 days when I placed my order. This seems to be their latest standard indication for items from indie labels that are not in stock (at their supplier). The SHM-CD is OOP everywhere, so I believe an order would lead to cancelation and the status on the item's page being changed from 2 to 4 weeks to Sold Out. I placed an order for a second hand copy of the SHM-CD, although the Solid CDs are still available on eBay and elsewhere and might still be available through CD Japan. CD Banq from Taiwan usually offers these Solid reissues on their website, but the Time series is not available and I can't say if it ever was. They are a reliable company and shipping from Taiwan is cheap. Usually they are able to fulfil orders even after CD Japan can't any longer.
  7. @king ubuI ordered the Booker Little recently from CD Japan and earlier this week received notice it would take three to four weeks for them to fulfil the order. In the past such delays often ultimately lead to cancellation, so I preemptively cancelled the order myself.
  8. Fat Man and the Hard Blues Brilliant album. Hopefully Raw Materials and Residuals will be delivered before the weekend. I had only ever tried W.S.Q., but that early album's relatively poor recording quality made me give up on the World Saxophone Quartet. Then the Dogon A.D. CD reissue showed me I should have explored Julius Hemphill's discography instead.
  9. These days even nature pictures have become political. So I say: Make the post a picture thread grate again!
  10. @BillFNo Bill, think more inner emigration:
