  1. It's a recording that was and is very influential. Whether the bass is "muddy" or someone likes it or doesn't is really beside the point. Context is everything. Who is Marc Myers anyway? He speaks of the democratic nature of the internet, but that can be both a blessing and a curse.
  2. Some old threads have code in them (usually from using quotes) that for one reason or another was not updated when the board software was updated and they cause display issues in some browsers. I have fixed the problems as best as possible while retaining the quotes.
  3. Yeah, he stole the movie.
  4. And it's also really good stuff. The Newman's Own marinara sauce is really tasty, as are the salad dressings. RIP Mr. Newman. A great actor and humanitarian.
  5. I have my mom's waffle machine. Damn thing has to be over 30 years old and still works like a champ. It makes the best waffles; perfectly cooked, everytime. I had to put a new electrical cord on it a few years ago, but it's a serious machine. It makes four rectangular waffles at a time, each one about the size of a postcard. Rocks!!! I think I'll make some waffles tomorrow morning for breakfast!
  6. My neighbor and her 120db leaf blower is at it again, blowing every speck of dust from her sidewalk. ARGH! I should mic mine and set up my 2500 watt PA system, aimed right at her house and play along to Kenny G with the leaf blower. Wait... that would be awful!!!!
  7. The solar wind came blowing in from the vacuum of spaaaaaaaace...
  8. That's weird. Maybe because of the AES show coming up. Stay on him. I just sent the setup file via email. I think the LPF is in the key-click menu, under drawbars.
  9. I hate leaf blowers too. In fact, I have railed against them on this forum before (I can't find the post, however, but I remember catesta coming to their defense, which makes sense considering his line of work). However, I must admit that I bought a combination leaf blower / vac / mulcher. It's much quieter than my neighbors annoying one and judging by how long it takes her to blow off her sidewalk, much more powerful, too. And it's electric. I bought it because we have a hedge along the alley that is impossible to rake underneath and a large patch of small rocks for drainage on the other side of the house that is impossible to rake leaves from as well. I'm not one of those people that spends hours blowing my sidewalk or driveway, though, until every speck of dust is gone. That drives me up the wall.
  10. Ah. So do some cows dry up naturally even though they are milked? Without getting too personal, we had to put both Zora and Stella on formula quicker than we would have liked to, even though they were both feeding regularly.
  11. I don't know; there might be a serious market for "Titty Ice Cream". How one would go about making it, is another question altogether. Isn't one of the reasons we drink cow's milk is because they are constantly making it (meaning the cows)? Women only make it as long as their children need it (and sometimes it dries up before the child is weened). Then again, there is that whole history of the "wet nurse", which I never quite understood.
  12. Holy shit, I think the earth just stood still there for a minute!
  13. Right, I know that. The reason private institutions have to do this is because there is no healthy art support from the government.
  14. That would be great, especially if it would happen more often to more people and this country actually supported its artists. But we don't have the money for that. We spend our trillions on bailing out banks and wars and stuff.
  15. It's a sculpture by Australian artist Ron Mueck. He's got other big sculptures besides this one. It is creepy, isn't it? He's the 3D Chuck Close! Creepy!!!
  16. Hehehe. Raise a dirty bastard. Heehehehehee.
  17. Well, I got home late from tuning and didn't get to the store for fresh asparagus, nor did I have the energy to make garlic mashed redskin potatoes, so I just whipped up some egg noodles for the beef medallions with mushrooms and green beans. It was still delicious!
  18. Movin' on up! http://www.live365.com/charts/top30.live?chart_name=Jazz
  19. I need to get some cloth bags. The plastic ones are starting to piss me off.
  20. Cheese ravioli (not home-made, but still very good from a local store) with red sauce, fresh steamed broccoli and rosemary/garlic bread. I have some really nice beef tenderloins that I think I'm going to make into a medallion / mushroom sauce combination tomorrow with mashed redskins and asparagus. I'm going to attempt to re-create an incredibly tasty dinner I had at a jazz club in South Bend a few weeks ago.
  21. Time to report to eBay.
  22. What's funny is today I remembered I had some candy corn on the counter. D'oh! Today Zora and I went to the grocery and I'm loaded now: Glazed donuts, candy corn, and pop-tarts. Life is good.
  23. The last time the Lions won a playoff game was what... 1957? The NFL needs a mercy rule.
  24. It's probably flashback munchies from all the weed my parents smoked when I was a kid. I don't touch the stuff.
  25. Uh... wow I made a PB&J out of PB Loco (cinnamon and raisins in the peanut butter... way tasty) and raspberry jam. It ain't chocolate, but it will do until tomorrow.
