  1. Does anyone else like to listen to ballads or otherwise quiet music loudly? I enjoy cranking up, say, Metheny's solo acoustic guitar record to a good level, or maybe a classical piece like Copeland's Quiet City (is that the name of it?), just to hear more of the detail. I find it exhilarating!
  2. That's hip! I've been waiting to see these for a while now. Tell Claudia we likes !
  3. You, sir, are one sick puppy! :rsmile: :rsmile: :rsmile:
  4. Couldn't find it either. I'd go with Erik's suggestion of emailing the customer service people.
  5. Tom, is that for me, or them?
  6. Unbelievable! Just for my own information, I did a search on undergroundagent's posts, and skimmed through a couple of pages worth of 'em. I found nothing that was even remotely rude, so the fact that it's come to this is pretty hard for me to understand. It should have been dropped a long time ago.
  7. Happy Flag Day, Use!
  8. err...At least I thought it was easy. It's been a couple of years, so I don't remember exactly how I did that. I'll look when I get a minute.
  9. One local band that didn't last long: Aids Babies. That's pretty poor. Another one was Let's Beat Up Joe. Needless to say, I never caught them live either...
  10. PMG -- First Circle John Scofield Band -- Philiopiety and Like the Moon, from up all night Anything by Iron Maiden or Dio, if heard in the van on the radio when Jim and I are driving home from the gig. Pretty rare to hear either of those, however.
  11. Excellent CJ! I'll be on the lookout for that DB, too.
  12. Wow! That would be great, to say the least. I wonder if they would tour the States, though. That kind of all-star thing appears to be more feasible in Europe, for some reason. I'm looking forward to the next PMG project myself; I really like the current lineup. CJ's been keeping us updated, but he hasn't had much to say lately. What up, CJ?
  13. I'm waiting for it to show up at BMG. I picked up Joyful Noise after seeing Derek with the Allman Bros. last summer (and being very impressed). I thought it was okay, but not as powerful as what I heard at the concert. JN is very eclectic, and I've heard that the new one is more unified. True?
  14. A new member who is a girl and a Metheny fan? Sorry I missed this tour; he didn't come very close to Michigan...
  15. Holy Freak! That list!!! The submission period is officially over. It's great, actually, to see this level of interest from you guys. I don't think it will be that hard to figure out what to include in the project, so it's all good. Would like to get a copy of that Miles tune, since everyone jumped on that, as well as the Smiths tune. I think we've got access to most everything else.
  16. What the.. oh come on Moose! SoulStream=the voice of reason. There were three tunes new to us that got multiple requests: Moontrane, that Smiths tune, and Ghetto Walk. Those plus some of what we already do sounds most likely. You guys do want us to get this thing done sometime within the next year, don't you? But if impossible would be so kind as to compile that list, we'll move forward from there. Scott B: I guess it's all you, buddy.
  17. Not if we keep it quiet... Good thinking, impossible. I'll let Jim set the deadline. I should say we have plenty of requests at present.
  18. He snuck in there last week. James T. Cat: going boldly where no cat has gone before...
  19. Not to give you a hard sell or anything, but you can set up your membership so that you don't have to reply to the monthy selection. It's easy to do at their website. Last night I ordered a 2 CD James Brown set using my "music points". It cost me only shipping. Edit: Aggie beat me to it.
  20. Just thinking out loud for a moment. We are going to have to start organizing this input, I think, and take a look at what fits well together. This is starting to look like a fair amount of work to get everything "under our fingers". But that's a good thing, because I think it will be a good warmup for the "real" cd. Learning new tunes always helps, on many levels. This is pretty cool, I have to admit. There are tunes here that we never would have thought of (some of which we've never heard of!). Thanks for the suggestions, everybody.
  21. I thought this was going to be about his other musical, "Copacabana". I actually played in the orchestra pit for that one when it came to East Lansing. It was a hard book. Which is not to say that it was good... at all...
  22. Jim, I did a search and it seems that Mr Kenyatta is a Lee Morgan tune, which can be found on Search For a New Land. I believe you have that one, no? Peter Bernstein also did a version on Something's Burning.
  23. I've got one! Dem New York Dues.
  24. Damn, Paul! Gibraltar??? How about Black Market? We were working that up a while back... Some of this stuff is not in our collections. We may have to request some CD-Rs ourselves.
  25. "Moontrane". I've always wanted to do that tune. "Brazil?" What's that? I've seen three so far that we already do: Tyrone (not much point since we've already done Jim's take on it: Young's Dream), The Yodel B) , and Organ Grinder's Swing. Keep 'em coming; this is fun! Edit: I see Jim and I are tripping over each other here...
