  1. aren't the Klones made by Mitsui?
  2. this bft idea started in august of 2003. 22 months later we are up to test 26. had #25 gone ahead as planned (two months to ship some freekin cds?) we'd have been at test 27, at least, by now. that rate of fast and furious would probably take us up to #s 29 or 30 by the two year mark. once again i think these double discs sets quag the whole deal down regardless of how great or fun they might be and no disrespect to those who pulled them off. more importantly a single session sure makes it a whole lot easier on all the friendly folk who give time and dough to put together the logistics for distribution and the like for the compliler. true a stricter schedule would allow anybody to send out as much as they want but, sheesh, i can see some stephen king scenario playing out where we who are in so much need of more music to listen to are drawn, quartered and decapitated by shiny silver odd-job frisbees when all of our cdrs come to life.
  3. so Happy Birthday Mithter Johnthon!
  4. just what a single costs here via domestic first class and ya get it in three days max! you sure did!!
  5. sounds like a fine plan. when it was in the single digits the test was flying along and pretty much was on course up until the month-and-a-half of bft 25 and that with only a third of the folks even responding whether or not they got it. seems the thing went into chug mode with the double disc + mailings. great to get lots of stuff but a big burden on the fine organissimites who handled mailings and even burning of mosaic select equivelants for the compiler. one disc a month. sixty cent stamp on an envelope. ten cent disc inside. cueing up the bastards to get some elusive cut you fell in love with ,,, pricless. WWMD?
  6. and you get peter parker's boss and phil spector cool site
  7. Hence Verve's "un-mixed" discs that come out shortly after the godawful re-mixed ones.
  8. Not certain that Verve / fontana is a new rehash as the date is still 1989. The old re-issue from first go round. The Uni / Europe version in digipack is the one to look out for. Stunning!!!!
  9. Stefan, I'm holding a vinyl 1981 Italian issue of Dakota w/ Manny Albam BB on Europa Jazz lp EJ1033. Mint fold out w/ Frank Wess, Garnett Brown, Cecil Bridgewater, Pepper Adams etc. produced by Sonny Lester. PM if you'd like it for trade or ?
  10. and ta think my prescription just ran out!
  11. Anyone care to comment specifically on Garrick's 'Black Marigolds' disc? I see it contains some "poetry" as well as "celeste" and "harpsichord". Three words that sit somewhere beyond my tolerance.
  12. the food will truly knock your socks off. best offerings ever!!! just make sure to don one of them masks whenever you venture by the open air dried fish markets, esp in 100 + august.
  13. Catesta was all over this place ages ago. He rec'd it but, alas, the night we went - at 5:00! - the wait was already an hour and a half. Would have loved to sample it.
  14. saw them early on as well and a couple times after they "really" made it. the first was after the second album had been released with "25 or 6 to 4" as the acid test radio hit. my folks scored tix in the first row. they had the first two albums at home so it was cool seeing something that i was hearing all the time. lost much interest after the chocolate bar cover lp. but you got to hand it to a band that comes on so strong out of the gate. double albums of classic stuff that made America great.
  15. me too, i thnk is see "cubu" just ahead ... geronimoooooooo!
  16. I don't quite understand - once a PayPal payment has been completed it can't be cancelled. A seller should never ship anything as long as the payment has not been completed. Once a payment has been completed the only thing a buyer can do if he has doubts is file a claim with PayPal and ask them for a refund. PayPal will then look into the matter and contact the seller; they will only grant the claim if it is founded according to their rules. ← that's what i presumed as well. i had a buyer cancel on me once but i had not yet sent the parcel so i got lucky. maybe the buyer had the original source of funds revoke the transaction from PayPal? i will get the skinny as to what PayPal claimed on this from the man himself in a bit as he is evidently out of his mind trying to head the fork off at the pass. ← as for my snafoo it was cancelled almost immediately as i had checked more than i would have normally. now as far as the guy with the bike fork: he received a mail yesterday saying he had cash. addressed from the payor and upon checking his payPal account he saw a balance reflecting that $500 payment. he went to the USPS and sent a $500 item with NO TRACKING NUMBER WTF!!!! just being thrifty. he then returned and transfered the funds to his regular bank account. then he received an email from PayPal stating that his transfer had ben reveresed and the he was the recipient of "unauthorized" funds. now he is out the $500 and the fork is on the way to some kid from Bulgaria's uncle in Illinois who will ship it to him after he get's it. Now! if he received a notice that he "got cash" from an actual PayPal isp and then sees that balance in his account I believe PayPal is culpable for the fact that he was on the up and up and shipped the item immediately. something to be said for a bit of procrastination and something more to be said for UPS and tracking numbers for stuff more than a few bills.

  18. anyone know how much time a buyer has to cancell a transfer of funds? just this week a guy at my studio here just sold a mountain bike fork to a stateside buyer. after receivng payment of $500 plus via PayPal and then confirmed to the inquisitive buyer that the item was infact shipped yesterday, PayPal actually phoned him this morning to let him know that the payment had been cancelled. i'm not sure whether he's able to track this as i think the buyer was letting him know that it was not necessary. turns out it was a European base for the payment and not a stateside account. this deal was off eBay thru a bike nerd site. he'd already had a half a dozen ruses prior but this one snagged him. seems to me that these tricks might undermine the trust of PayPal and old time establishments like Western Union would be wise to start a bit of negative advertising to lure away some lost business from the greedy start-up.
  19. Grill THIS! day 5 of a sea tossing boulder throwing Nor'Easter!!! aaaargh!!!!! burgers in a pan in May? blasphemy!
  20. unless you can make it up to Cambridge and to Stereo Jack's, Looney Toons up by Mass Ave on Boylston is the only choice ... that's a good walk. On a map it's on the Fenway side six doors west of Mass Ave. Kind of catty-corner from the Virgin Mega on Mass Ave and Newbury but no need for that place. Even Newbury Comix is moot. But hey, you got enough stuff to listen to anyway so just enjoy yourself up and around the ball-yard and get into it!!! Have a great time!!
  21. hopefully you went and had a dang quesadi"ll"a afterwards!
  22. Cool Drawing Flash kind of looses it once he starts with the hogging out the clothes but very nice even for a fellow "hand avoider".
