Playing through some Charlie Parker "originals" today. "Throckmorton the Plumber", "Yashitaki-Mikimoto" and "Half Pass Fass", it was tough not to think of Fasstrack on that last one.
I'm with you there. Everyone short of, say, Hitler, gets a non-judgmental "happy birthday" (or silence) from me. So, to possibly the two most prominent/household names in jazz, "all the best"
Not really "in" my jazz, but I really hate talking to people about jazz - people who consider themselves "experts" - who have ZERO understanding of jazz history say further back than John Coltrane or Diana Krall's first album.

Vocals. Yeah, a pretty broad condemnation of a major element of what many consider jazz. But I just can't "do" vocals, Mr. 5X5, Eddie Jefferson and a few others excepted.
I've positive recollections of my may visits to 333 Grays Inn Road (if memory serves) from - could it have been - the late 1970s? Early, early 1980s? And I did mail order when I couldn't make it in person.
Oh, I have. Several times. It gets a bit pricey and hard to schedule time-zone-wise from outside the U.S. So far, the calls haven't gotten me anywhere; it's always "I'll check".
