  3. There used to be a Moby Disc in Southern California, I think it was.
  4. Man, this thread started in '06. Didn't know you'd been around that long. But I'm glad to have seen your posts more recently. Have a great one.

  10. But if I post under your name, my postings will be filtered out by the "ignore" feature enabled by about half the people on the board. Only kidding, of course.
  11. Yep. And that's why I can't get won't take a recording gig.
  12. Well, here's hoping the incredible blast continues!
  13. From CNN... Officials are trying to rescue a 6-year-old boy who climbed into a balloon-like experimental aircraft built by his parents and floated into the sky over eastern Colorado.
  14. Best wishes for a very happy birthday!
  15. Borders.com promo code: BSA6576K 30% off "anything", except all the usual exclusions. In store, also 30% Expires 19 October
  16. I usually employ high humidity to remove stiffened masking tape without fear of tearing the cover. I strongly recommend taking afflicted records to Paraguay. Seriously, thank you, Stereojack and MwtGA in particular, for the good advice. Much more sophisticated that the BeBop sledgehammer approach.
  17. Have a great birthday!
  18. "Great Jamboree" or "Geat Jamboree", as mine reads?
  19. For me, I'll join the chorus singing the praises of The Bad Plus. Add to those already mentioned: We Are the Champions Heart of Glass Not to fond of the offerings on the vocal album (For All I Care), though there are some nice pop/rock tunes there: Lithium, Comfortably Numb, How Deep Is Your Love, Barracuda
  20. Have a wonderful birthday, Marcus!
  21. It's Brad's birthday? Hey, cool. A reason to celebrate!
  22. I'm always reluctant to give information on a place I haven't been in two years or maybe three. But no one else seems to be offering anything up, so, for what it's worth... There's a place called "The Great Escape" that I think is linked up to the place of same name in Nashville (IIRC). May have just been my frame of mind, but I split after about 38 seconds. They had vinyl, but i think there was something musty about the smell of the place giving me a headache. Or the heebie jeebies. Ear-xTacy is a pretty all-purpose store. Buy, Trade, Sell. LP, CD, DVD, Games... You know the kind of place. When I was there, they were doing some kind of pop (not in a bad way) concert. I've got a CD with a price tag from Underground Sounds. That's all I recall of that place. Ok CD. One of the last I bought. Half Price Books has a local outlet. And CD Warehouse, if it ain't gone belly-up like most of 'em I could swear there was a place called something like "Blue Note Records". I'll betcha five bucks I could breadcrumb my way back to the spot. But that name ain't right, or it ain't in the phone book. Maybe you'll see something with a trademark-infringing name and that'll be it. They had a bunch of vinyl, but they didn't keep to their posted hours. And a lot of the vinyl was sitting in a sunny window spot. This place was cool, but gone now. I'll try to post a bit more later.

...and I wanted to mention Jessica Williams, one of my early influences, until I re-read the thread title.
