  1. ... Well, I hear his son may get a September call-up with the Astros, that might be a big reason. The Astros are at .500, which is probably better than they were the last 2 years at this time, and still made the playoffs. I could see why he wouldn't want to come back to Boston, the way he was treated by the team, and fans since he left. And he wants to be at home, he doesn't even go on the road when he isn't starting, so why would he go to the Yankees(and they always treated him well, why stab them in the back?) or Boston? The Rangers, on the other hand, would have made a lot of sense IMO. He would win 15 starts even starting this late in the year with their offense, and they would have gone nuts if the Rangers made it to the W.S. for the first time with Roger helping get them there. But, he did do that last year with the 'stros, so perhaps they can get back there again with him strong all the way thru Oct..... I think the team they are fielding right now (with the addition of Clemens) is not near as good a team as they had the two previous years (no Bagwell, no Beltran, no Kent...no Petitte ). Maybe a wildcard if they are lucky. m~
  2. ...have not seen it but it sounds interesting despite the apparent poor mix. Is this available on dvd? m~
  3. Wish I could have made it this weekend but I will be at the Chicago Jazz Fest. m~
  4. I saw two sets last night by trumpeter Jon Faddis and his quarter at the Jazz Kitchen in Indianapolis. The quarter included David Hazeltine on piano, Kiyoshi Kitagawa on bass and Dion Parson on drums. I had seen Faddis several times before but never with a quartet. I'm not a fan of the high pitched trumpet playing (ala Maynard) but thought this show and Jon's playing were excellent. If you haven't seen Jon in close quarters, he's a pretty funny guy and great player. The first set they played mostly tunes from their new cd that is being released this coming Tuesday, including: ~The Barron ~ Hunters and Gatherers ~Hey Lalo ~The Courtship ~and the title tune "Teranga" The second set was comprised of "Gillespiana" Here are a couple images from the show.
  5. Seems to me the same thing can be said, that certain non-Americans simply cannot stand that an American has dominated a European sport, and no matter what is shown, he will always be guilty. Of being an American dominating a European sport. Well, we do live in a society that revels in dragging a person through the mud (whether he's guilty or not), someone that maybe needs to be knocked down a bit (for his own good). I don't know if Lance took something, don't really care. If he did, that's sad and wrong....if he'd didn't, sad he has to deal with the bs. Either way, when he logs in here tonight, he's gonna be pissed we're talking about him. m~
  6. I personally know Lance and he wishes you guys could resolve your differences. He also told me he is innocent of these charges. m~
  7. ....nope, just you! Actually I loved Johnny Quest as a kid.......RIP~

  11. Hell with the troubles the pacers had with personel this year, I would say it was a MAJOR accomplish they made it into the playoffs! m~
  12. Happy Birthday Pete, sounds like you have a good one!
  13. Its probably correct that he signs with them, but as of now, it looks like people are jumping the gun. Both Clemens' agent and the 'Stros owner are denying the report. ...and that's a shock???
  14. Clemens going to Astros....hope he gets shelled!!! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/base...mens/index.html

  16. To answer your question, for amusement. Maybe we should dreg up -- and I mean dreg -- some of his famous posts such as when he stole the sign for Donaldson Street in LA? ...or the one where he called Lou D while he (Lou) was eating a 'sammich"......or the one that he wished death and distruction on several other posters........... m~
