My older son saw an advance screening last night. He said that it was surprisingly entertaining while running, but after the movie was over he kept thinking of inconsistancies, annoyances, and stupid points. (Which reminds me of my reaction to Independence Day all those years ago.) He told me to for godsakes not see it. "You would freak out," he said.

Is that anything like The Incredibles?

That's one of the risks of being into old movies: Forever ruined for contemporary celebs by the likes of Jean Arthur, Carole Lombard, Myrna Loy, and the rest. A risk I'm willing to take, of course.

A bit startling to hear that he was 75, but he did start appearing in movies in the 60's, so yeah... RIP
