  1. It was unseasonably hot over the weekend and Monday. Tuesday was a little better, but today it's apparently gone back to the more normal for April bone-chilling cold.
  2. I loves me some T-Bone.
  3. Sibelius - The Complete Symphonies (Boston Symphony Con. by Sir Colin Davis) Two Philips Duos.
  4. The Shrinking Man perhaps?
  5. Jazz fusion and cold fusion...I'm skeptical about both.
  6. The Very Best of Booker T. & the MG's (Rhino CD) Was going to get that 3-CD set from Newbury for $13.99 when I read a customer review that said the version of "Time Is Tight" on there was a very different alternate. Saw this at Amoeba for less and realized it has all the tracks I really want or need by them.
  7. You may be right. Did you see/hear this? It's taken from a CD titled "Television's Greatest Hits", and it has a slightly different feel (don't think I ever heard this exact take). Yeah, but most of those are re-recordings, not original broadcast versions. I remeber when that CD came out. A lot pf people were disappointed. But there were some rights issues or something, jsut like you still cna't get the original Beverly Hillbillies theme. Yeah, that stinks. It's also why it's not worth getting a lot of those TV-music-theme compilations.
  8. TELL me about it! In fact, I just bought some Sibelius from Newbury. I've always had good luck with Newbury. Never had a problem with them, and not only do they have good prices but the fastest results with standard shipping I've ever seen. I swear, they must ship those babies the second they get the order!
  9. "Get off my internet lawn, dagnabbit!"
  10. Very glad you are alright, Victor. Sounds like quite a scare you had. I'd say kick back with some Prez and a good screwball comedy.
  11. That Susan Boyle clip must be the most watched thing on Youtube for the last few days.
  12. Yes, I know what you mean. I feel if you happen to get to a door first, and there's someone right behind you, it isn't nice to just let it swing shut in their face.
  13. Yeah, I thought the RVG's were supposed to be around for a good long time. And it particularly hurts that Sax A La Carter Blowing In From Chicago are going OOP. Thank God I got most of this stuff already.
  14. Wha???? I had no idea you were unhappy Chris. Hope you change your mind.
  15. You are clearly not alone on this one. I have read a lot of positive posts on this set from other board members on the O'Day set. And if you feel a bit isolated, how should I feel now...listening to the Mildred Bailey set? CD2. Very enjoyable stuff. Hey, I love the Mildred Bailey set! (Though I think I love the O'Day set even more.) Beyond lies the
  16. I saw a shorter version of this the other day. God love her.
  17. Just the sort of girl whom, at the age of 17, I would have THOUGHT about asking out, but would have been too scared to do so. Ah, high school...
  18. Best of luck to your daughter and you Al.
  19. It's actually still 2 cds, just in one package. Well, fuck.
  20. Well, both volumes of Past Masters on one disc is good news for me.
  21. My condolences for your terrible loss.
  22. Thanks for that. Good review Larry.
  23. Angels and Ages by Adam Gopnik.
  24. I'm still a big fan of Steve Martin; I just would rather he hadn't done Bilko and Couseau. I thought he made an excellent Oscars host a few years back.
