  1. This is called profiting on insider information, Scott. Your prices better be good...
  2. My reaction is: "Damn! I spent too much on Japanese stuff!"
  3. I remember reading that in a jazz picture book as well. Doesn't matter to me what Jimmy Smith said. Patton was incomparable; and he will always remain as one of the best to me.
  4. Oh yes, of course. Thanks also Kevin for your help. In my opinion you've done a lot for us here at Organissimo and at BNBB by passing on our requests. The one example that really stands out for me was the inclusion of tracks from the Japanese "Procrastinator" onto the Conn "Sonic Boom." That was awesome! The only thing you failed on was getting "Passing Ships" its proper title of "Yesterday is Now!"
  5. Amen to that, Late. Thus my name...
  6. Perhaps this new test will reveal something. Hope the Health Insurance keeps up with all this...
  7. Everybody, please e-mail Michael at the Mosaic address, and let's all tell him how much we want to hear The Trainwreck session. I'd prefer the Quebec 2-fer, as I've already got "Natural Essence."
  8. Books for me too! But not on gnosticism.
  9. Late getting to the board today... Congratulations to Johnny and the Ewing family.
  10. The string of lights above Jim's head looks like a couple of breasts hanging down from above. Maybe? Wes, you've been up too late...
  11. Sounded like an electric piano to me. (Now there will be no more excuses. Donnie Hathaway's "The Ghetto" will now become a part of the repertoire...)
  12. I've got around 700-800. Seems like a ton to me, but apparently not...
  13. You were? I didn't see you drink at all. Were you taking shots behind that B-3? B-)
  14. Chuck's got a few more pics to post. I just sent him some more. I don't know how to post em myself. I should have put the damned beer bottle down!! -_-
  15. So you haven't outgrown it or anything, Dan?
  16. Life as a paralegal, Tony? Sounds tough. Any job where you count the minutes and hours is tough indeed. I've done that before, though, thankfully not at my current position.
  17. Missing tons of McDuff.
  18. http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&s...marvad4ky8w1~T1 Very helpful. Thanks Couw.
  19. Just ordered a couple more Stitt/Patterson from half.com. B-)
  20. Aren't you one of the boomers, Jim? -_-
  21. Damn, I can't locate "Aires" on any of my Don Patterson/Sonny Stitt cds. Jim.... ?
  22. That's the first one to pop into my mind as well. This one is a classic!
  23. Got back last night at 2:30. Had a great time. Organissimo is getting better. They played a few tunes from their upcoming cd, and this promises to be superior to the first. Wow, I'm gonna be an early bird on that next cd! Greg, sorry you couldn't stay till the end. The last two sets were terrific. Besides some of their new originals--I do remember one of the titles, "Stomp Your Feet" they played "Someone to Watch over Me" right? Was that the Grant Green/Larry Young tune? They also played a beautiful Don Patterson ballad called "Aires," and also "Dem NY Blues" by Patterson. There was a terrific tune by Scolfield, and one by the Detroit organistj--was it Hyde? Anyway, there were a few more, but that's all I remember right now. Jim brought his Yamaha electric keyboard and played a few licks. That was a nice touch. Everybody was on. It was great to meet Chuck and his family. He's a real softie! Super people. We took some pics and we'll post them. My neice took some, and Ann Nessa took a few. Hope I don't look too lickered up...
