  1. I'm reading "Haunted" by Chuck Palahniuk. I've come to quite like Palahniuk over the past year. This one is good so far, although I'm not enjoying quite as much as his earlier works.
  2. Reading some Kafka stories. "In the Penal Colony", "Judgment" and several others in this book.
  3. John Terry suspended for the next match!
  4. I had higher expectations from Man United. Hi Bentsy - I think everyone did! Especially at Old Trafford. But watching Porto was something else. They played their hearts out. Fernando was incredible.
  5. Wow....I finally got through listening to the final discs of the set this morning. Probably the best $13 bucks I've ever spent! My discs were in mint condition, as was the book. The box had a tad bit of wear on the corners, and a loud, orange sticker across the top, but I really don't care about those types of things anymore. This music is incredible, and at that price, it was an absolute steal. This board has given me so much over the years, and the heads up on this incredible bargain is just the latest, greatest example. LOVE THIS PLACE! I hope the O-Board is around forever!
  6. Man United/Porto match was a thriller! Can't wait to see the next leg of this one.
  7. Mexico fired Sven Goran Eriksson this afternoon after last night's humiliating loss to Honduras. Sven and Mexico weren't a good fit anyways.
  8. Yeah, don't miss the Rodney Green group. Thats a fine band. I was at Smalls for the first time a month or so ago during an impromtu trip to NYC. Really fun place to see jazz!
  9. I read Kurt Vonnegut's "A Man Without A Country" this morning. A fine, short, memorable read. I'm going to read Philip K. Dick's "The Man in the High Castle" next.
  10. Chelsea vs. Liverpool in the Champions League quarterfinal....anyone else getting sick of seeing these two teams play each other in this competition? The Barcelona/Bayern matchup should be interesting.
  11. Wow....what a show! Great stuff.
  12. Its too bad they didn't record together more. "Black Fire" and "Point of Departure" are high points of 60's jazz.
  13. $12.68. Wow!!!!! Thanks so much mikelz777!!!!!!
  14. Looks like I'm going to be in the minority here, but I thought this movie was really good. Yes, its a film for the fanboys. Will the non-fanboys like it? Who knows? I saw it with my cousin, who had never even heard of the graphic novel, and she loved it. I've read the book several times, and for me, I really appreciated Zak Snyder's faithfulness. I'm glad it wasn't watered down for the pg-13 Spiderman audiences just for the sake of making a dollar. Its not a pretty story. No need for the gloss. I understand completely that this isn't a movie that everybody is going to like. It will polarize. It will appeal to a certain market. And that's fine. The negative reviews aren't surprising at all. But in the end, Snyder did what he was supposed to do....he brought Watchmen to the screen. You can take it or leave it. I had a blast.

    K2s -- which ones?

Incredible Jazz Guitar sounds great too. edit to add that I really miss this series. Some of the best sounding jazz reissues I've heard.
  16. Been a fan of theirs from the beginning. Rising Down is OK...but really doesn't even come close to their first albums. But still, its better than most other hip hop thats been coming out these days.
  17. "Lullaby" - Chuck Palahniuk
  18. How funny....I've been listening to this set for the last hour, and just came across this thread. Get it while you can. I'd say its my favorite Mosaic box that I own.
  19. I've read 100 pages of "Brave New World" since starting it last night. So far, fantastic.
  20. Yep, that Dexter Select is nice! I've been spinning the Pendulum Select all morning. I wasn't real into this one when I first got it, but its starting to grow on me. Some VERY nice soloing on here.
  21. Congrats! Santos Laguna is a strong team....you guys should be proud. I haven't followed the CONCACAF champions league since I moved to NY and lost my cable channels. It was a fun competition to watch. Is Joe Public still in there?
  22. This is one of my favorite sessions on the Mosaic, as is the aformentioned "Genesis". Alot of Elvin's stuff from this era was really good, although some of the stuff just got too convoluted with percussion IMO. The Lighthouse dates are incredible too.
