  1. What the heck; someone who likes to play and sing but doesn't want to deal with the bullshit. Hard to argue with that...
  2. Don't blame the fist; that's not the cause...
  3. Only s sick puppy like you would post a story about a praying mantis getting a hummer!
  4. Unfortunately, no; we'll be heading south, then across. Once I get down there though, I'll be picking up a vehicle, so I'm hoping for a future roadtrip north. I hear there's this pretty decent organ trio up around Michigan somewhere; thought I'd give them a listen...
  5. One of my favorites!
  6. House went on the market yesterday, today was the "agents preview" and we had 28 different real estate agents show up. Our open house is Saturday. Wednesday offers are due and we start picking and choosing. I tell ya, there's nothing like the Bay Area housing market... Fortunately for us, most of our furniture is so old, even if we wanted to keep it, it would be pointless. We're looking forward to getting new stuff to go with the new house. (We've even got a nibble on this stoopid modular sofa thingie... ) Looks like we'll be in the new place before Halloween!
  7. dickwads.
  8. So it's not just trombonists?
  9. Two thoughts come to mind on this thread for me. 1) I never cared for the rap I heard on the radio. Then I heard older artists on the Living Color DVDs and realized that I now liked them. So I guess I have discovered that I am a middle aged caucasian. Imagine my shock! 2) Those who hold up the example of R&B and Rock in this "chain of progression" are, in my mind, defeating their own argument. As far as musical complexity goes, R&B can't hold a candle to jazz, and rap can't hold a candle to R&B. The music is devolving as the lowest common denominator becomes more important than regional variations. Rap is the new jazz only in the sense that it's the latest popular form to emerge from the African-American community, but any comparison to jazz musically seems rather weak to me.
  10. It's all in the timing...
  11. I agree. More importantly, what is that thing she's holding?
  12. I'll admit it beats the hell out of those abominations from the late '70s and '80s that they had the nerve to call 'Mustangs', but still...
  13. Damn groupies...
  14. Thing is, you will use more electricity with a car like that...we will need to burn more coal, oil, or will have to have more Nuclear plants....Hybrids that can recharge themselves seem like a better idea... ← Yeah, but how much electricity? As an example, the article above about the modified Prius talks about a quarter's worth a day...not too much coal burned there, I would assume.
  15. Personally, I feel that if a company is selling cups of coffee at a drive through window, one should have a reasonable expectation that the container that holds the coffee up to the task at hand...
  16. Let's boycott! I for one, will not buy another Simpsons set until the release of Season 7. Let them ponder their evil ways until then!
  17. I agree; if that was all the CD was, I'd be disappointed.
  18. Here's another link dealing with the point Ray was making.
  19. Yeah, just wait until you're in the mood for it, and you'll love it. This was my first Mosaic, and is still the one that I return to the most, but I still avoid it when I'm in one of those "no vocals" periods. But I've noticed that they hit less frequently now that I have this...
  20. I felt that way too, until I hit my midforties...
  21. Unbelievable. This disc just gets better and better. I thought I knew what to expect, but I'm in awe... Thanks for putting this puppy out!
  22. The cool thing about this box for me is that my other half loves Ray at least as much as I do...so we'll probably team up on this one. I'll get it for half price!
  23. Damn. Y'all's version of Tenderly is just....well, damn!
