  1. BUY IT
  2. My guess is that in this case, it's a distinct improvement...
  3. Colonel Sanders Colonel Klink Colonel Tom Parker
  4. Finally...a running low thread I can live with! I've had the O'Day set for years, got the JJ a while back, and don't want the Ory. I must be living right for a change!
  5. Well, our son's family is down there, with grandkids and such, so it's a family move. Plus there's the fact that we can sell our sixty year old broken down piece of shit house out here and get a nice house down there; that makes it a little easier to take.
  6. Let's keep in mind that no animals (or participants) were injured in the making of this BFT...
  7. Anybody have a list of what he still needs?
  8. But didn't the first line appear elsewhere prior to this?
  9. Looks like I'll be needing this thread next; plans are for us to be out of here by mid-October. We're meeting with the realtor next week, and we already have one looking for suitable property for us in our soon-to-be new home town..... Alexandria, Louisiana
  10. Mean Joe Green Terry Bradshaw Lynn Swann
  11. One cat loves free jazz like you wouldn't believe; the crazier the better. The other four are pu...er...wimps.
  12. Catcher or Bear?
  13. Lotsa memories from that man's music...
  14. KOB, th4ree times. Vinyl in '86, CD in '97 and the new remaster (with corrected speed) when it came out. GS: Just the CD once about three years ago if I remember right. The only music I've purposely upgraded was Kind of Blue and Out to Lunch...and Out to Lunch was because I needed another RVG in a sale or something.
  15. And I'm a hockey fan, but there may actually be something wrong with that...
  16. Brutal. It's 90 still. We're moving somewhere where it's 94 and the humidity is worse, but I can't wait, because then we'll have air conditioning...
  17. Good news, Alan! I checked and you're viewing the topic Buck Clayton Jam Sessions! Glad I could help...
  18. I don't have many of my comic books any more, but one thing I did keep was a three volume set of Dan Dare. The artwork is breathtaking, and reading the stories takes you back to childhood faster than almost anything I can think of!
  19. Seems like there was a TJ Kirk release not to long ago, but I'm going by memory, which is like trying to walk a tightrope across the Grand Canyon with greasy shoes...
  20. Maybe I should have said "some of us used to be hockey fans, back when the game existed"...
  21. I'm curious...did Handcock ever do a record with trombonist Curtis Puller?
  22. Yep. And the narrower their field of expertise, the broader they think their knowledge is...
  23. I definitely prefer "Oh, Canada" to "The Star Spangled Banner". Particularly if I have to listen to some cute kid or something try to sing it. I can believe it's a drinking song; you'd have to be drunk to think the average person has the range required to sing that thing. And of course we've heard it Greg; some of us are hockey fans!
  24. I'll go along with stupid, but my main criticism of this article is the complete lack of originality. Is there any knock on Miles in this article that anyone here hasn't heard before at least often enough to cause massive eye rolling when reading them again? I mean, it was a good laundry list of hits on Miles that I've heard ever since I got interested in jazz, but nothing original at all. He could have added something new, even if he had to make it up...
