  1. See, this was your mistake. My last car was a 1976 Toyota Carolla station wagon that hit 190,000 before croaking. The black sludge slowly drifting through the engine block was all that held it together. Oil change? What for; it's already got oil! Maybe it's for the best that I gave up driving...
  2. Amen, brother!!
  3. Cool! In that vein, my latest project is getting that damned oak limb that I cut off (before it grew into the dining room window!) cut up and in the yard waste can before the end of summer. Limited edition photographs will be available, signed by myself and Mrs. Moose, and audio recordings of my chainsaw will be available for those of you who fondly remember the Plasmatics. I will not, however, be selling photos of myself with the chainsaw while wearing bandaids on my nipples. Hey, nostalgia is one thing, but....
  4. I have two Henderson discs, Page One and Inner Urge. I enjoy both. The former, in my opinion, is a great example of the Blue Note sound and worthy of all the praise it gets. But Inner Urge....WOW!!! So, a question of all the Henderson fans here: If I want more stuff like Inner Urge, which Henderson disc would you recommend I grab next? Thanks!
  5. Why, you traitorous bastard! You owe us a better explanation than that for posting over there!!
  6. Well, this is obviously just a disagreement over a definition. I (and obviously a few others!) see a "personal musician exception" to spam rules as a proper thing, but Mike doesn't. Okay; I can live with that. I don't agree with it, but it's his call.
  7. Man, I go to Monterey for the day and you guys somehow break my computer...amazing!!!
  8. Jeez, pryan; put it on eBay for $20 like everyone else!
  9. This sucks. They were my main source for music! Well, them and this board...
  10. Aw, I've been threatened on the internet by more unbalanced, goofier unbalanced goofballs than muzakpunk before; I don't even pay attention to them anymore...
  11. To give the question a serious answer: There was that afternoon I spent about four hours playing Mobley's version of Recado Bossa Nova over and over and over, working myself into a frenzy. I dunno; it was like I was possessed. Harold Mabern, Jr. just wouldn't let my brain go...
  12. Aggie, In the Out Door was one of the albums that made groups like the B-52s, REM, Elvis Costello, Split Enz, etc. such a relief for me to hear. If I had a list of the albums that came out that year, I have no doubt that I could pick out 100 that I prefer to that Led Zep effort. By the way, I bought it the week it came out. Gave it a few listens, and it then received the honor of being the first recording I ever pitched in the trash. No joke; I couldn't stand it.
  13. Do you quote within a quote?? You know, those multi-box quotes. I must be stupid because this has become one of the great mysteries of life for me. Please enlighten me! This one must have netted you around fifty posts!
  14. Keep trying; it's entertaining anyway... Maybe you're using a different browser than we are or something...?
  15. Come on, Joe...just one more wafer thin post...
  16. Mnytime, I'll forgive any otherwise good band one bad album. Hence, in my universe, Led Zeppelin broke up over a fight over a chocolate eclair shortly before recording this abomination...
  17. Sex. No; wait...I misunderstood the question!
  18. And I thought our politics were different!!
  19. May I be forgiven if I just don't give a rat's ass about the Norah Jones Board? Sorry, but it's just a silly fanboy board anyway; I just can't seem to get worked up over it. Admittedly, anything that has even passing affiliation with Bob Jones U. gets put on my shit list (hey; good news, neon! You're in the company of the President! ), but if they want to use emotionally retarded goofballs as moderators, I understand. Who else would be interested? (I know this sounds like a slam neon; sorry...I just can't relate to fawning fan boards of a single artist. Much as I love Jackie McLean's music as an example, I really wouldn't want to spend all day talking about how he's like, hellacool, ya know?)
  20. Bjork Alice in Chains Nirvana The Descendents That's about it, I'm afraid...I'm just an old fuddy duddy jazz fan now.
  21. May 14th I posted at AAJ on a jazz vocalists thread. The post is still there entitled something like, "Has Anyone Heard Harvey Thompson Yet?". The post was mainly a short bio about Harvey and that he has a new CD out and is worth listening to. I also mentioned an upcoming Organissimo tour we're doing at the end of June which will feature Harvey Thompson and mentioned if anyone was going to be in Michigan at the time to contact us... A couple of days later I checked the thread and discovered the moderator had taken out the whole paragraph about Organissimo! I got censored!! Somebody at AAJ is maybe jealous of our success over here??
  22. As for your question, Big Al, I sure hope they haven't just disappeared...
  23. Did you get the email from auctionstealer? About "better change your eBay password"? Here's the text: In February of 2003, the Slammer Worm (virus) caused major problems for both large and small internet companies. During that time, we discovered an active attack against our system and informed our customers. We acted quickly and closed down the threat. This week, however, we learned that some eBay passwords were compromised. Some of you received an email stating that your credit card information has been stolen. Rest assured, YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION HAS NOT been jeopardized as it is not part of our records. The only item that may have been compromised is your eBay password. In response to the attack on our systems, we've performed a security audit. It determined that there are no current security holes and the last time any existed was approximately four months ago. We have taken additional steps to improve our existing security measures and performance. There are no security deficiencies that would put your information and our systems at risk. To protect yourself CHANGE YOUR EBAY PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY and any other password that is the same as your eBay password. This is quick and easy.
  24. I just checked the totals. I'm shocked!
  25. I'm usually out of step with fans of given bands; for instance I can't stand the Grateful Dead except for Terrapin Station. Deadheads tell me that one doesn't count. With Zep, I prefer III rather than the more popular II, IV, Houses, etc. My next favorite seems to be universally reviled...Presence.
