  1. Gotta admit, it's the Charlton comics that catch my eye...
  2. My only advice is don't spend a lot of money until you know the market. Check out flea markets, etc. You'd be surprised what you can come across (shut up, Aric!) if you get out there and dig rather than pony up the big bucks for easy access from a "rare record dealer".
  3. I agree. I knew Joan Osborne could sing but she made a believer out of me in this film. BTW, her latest cd, How Sweet It Is has some more powerful singing of some great soul tracks. Just my opinion but I thought Ben Harper was a poor choice for the Temptations songs and I couldn't figure out why Meshell Ndegeocello (?) was even there. I'd like Chaka Khan singing Row Your Boat. Pipes! B) An excellent summation! Or at least one that mirrors my own opinions. I thought Joan Osborne was incredible, and I'd never heard her before. I thought she was by far the best singer on the show until Chaka Kahn started singing! Man, it had been years since I'd heard Chaka Kahn; I thought she was fantastic before, but I think I underestimated her...
  4. I can't believe this shit! You mean you guys saw nothing from those CDs we bought? This is severly fucked up...anyone got any ideas on possible revenge methods?
  5. Well, for those that do care, at least the list of suspects is limited...
  6. God help me, I'm laughing...
  7. My first ever sports bet was on the first Ali-Frazier fight. Two whole dollars in the days of one dollar allowances; talk about livin' large!! Of course, it could have been worse...I could have put the money on Frazier, won, and headed on to a lifetime gambling problem I suppose.
  8. Will do. My Williams "collection" right now consists of this one, Jessica's Blues and an appearance on Interplay by the Tom Peron/Bud Spangler Quartet (which I absolutely love!).
  9. I heard a cut today on KCSM; sounded pretty good!
  10. Brad Pitt signs to play....aw, you read it!
  11. Was there ever a more hilarious title for a comic book than "Giant Size Man-Thing"?
  12. You win, Use....that's the most frightening link I've seen posted here! If your kid's acting like a teenager, off to the gulag. Wow...
  13. Sign me up! I love these movies!
  14. I dunno, I kind of like people here alerting me when they have stuff up on eBay. I guess I'd rather buy from people I know, and if they want to see if someone else will pay more, that's okay with me.
  15. Your majesty is like a stream of bat's piss...; no wait...hang on...
  16. Thor? THOR???? Well, it better be the Jack Kirby Thor, and NOT with Colleta inks, either! (Or maybe the John Buscema, but definitely not one of the newer, chickenshit Thors!!!) And you people complain about getting Dr. Strange! I'd have killed for Dr. Strange....
  17. Indestructable, that's one of the saddest posts I've ever read, but I'm glad you wrote it and I read it, if that makes any sense...
  18. Claude, this has been a major racket on eBay for as long as I've been there. The worst was when people were taking advantage of the charity auctions for 9/11 victims by padding their feedback, and eBay was reluctant to crack down due to their flagwaving over the charity in their press releases.
  19. Nothing more embarrassing than three posters trying to play stupid and easily convincing each other...
  20. She's a big name, but somehow I missed her in my readings. Tell us more, Moose. Well, head for the library and find a short story titled "The Petrified Man"; it was my intro to her work. If you've ever lived in the small town South for any length of time, you'll recognize every character in the story. She has a knack for capturing the humor of Southern thinking without insulting her subjects. A pretty neat trick!
  21. Wow! Now it's Flannery O'Conner; great stuff! Let's go for another: any fans of Eudora Welty around here?
  22. Stick to the jazz, dude; your taste in television is somewhat...well...I believe the word you young hipsters use these days is "sacks". Or "sicks". I wouldn't know...
  23. Curses! Foiled again by BeanoMan!!
  24. This isn't the latest John Hillerman mystery or something, shrugs. Believe me, knowing the plot, or even being told how the book is constructed won't hurt your enjoyment of it one bit. In fact, I'm willing to wager that most people will take all the help they can get! I remember trying to painstakingly put the first section in chronological order in American Literature and getting extremely frustrated. Then the next week the instructor gives us a "cheat sheet" that was already done. I could have killed the s.o.b.!!
