  2. I agree. me 2.
  3. When I lived in Lawrenceville, NJ some 16 years ago- I lived in that place! I found more obscure recordings- I'd like to go and see how it changed since I've been in there....oh and go to Chuck's for some buffalo wings. I guess I've been going there for 23-24 years now. For a long time I couldn't visit that often, but I've been there 3 times in the past six weeks. I'd say the big change in the past 16 years is a huge DVD section and more recently less new CDs in stock. I go for the cheap used CDs. Exactly!
  4. BUT YOU NEED ONE! Actually...I never plug the Excel in when I play it.
  5. Gretsch Guitars G400 Synchromatic - I'd love to try one, I think they look real spiffy, I wonder what they sound like? I hear you, but no thanks. I want a two-pickup (double-coil) monster. I've had plenty of archtops---and pleanty of feedback I just want another sound pallette just because..... I know what you mean, I don't need another guitar like that - I have a D'Angelico Excel that feeds back just fine.
  6. The sound holes look like cat's eyes! Schwing!

  8. You ever stop to think that maybe he wanted to keep the group private & not have amateurs & hobbyists knocking about, which any time you say the words "jazz research" you are sure to get? That's not an intrinsically bad thing, and I don't think he would say that it is, But from what I can gather, he wants this group to be limited to people with serious chops and credentials, and to that I say, yeah, right on. It is his thing after all. Oh yeah, right... that's not acceptable to you, so now what are you doing? Using a public forum to discuss a private one and vent against it's "owner" using "has this ever happened to you?" as a premise. Kinda sounds like a temper tantrum to me, but hey, I'm old-fashioned that way. It's the same ole air the dirty laundry shit - character assassination.
  9. Go to the movie and tell us how it ends Allen.
  10. Consider it a compliment to your knowledge and taste. I kicked myself off of that site ages ago. I just look at the musician's forums, nothing else has much zing over there.
  11. It's been a while since I read the books, so I don't remember any mention of Jazz. But he writes about classical music a lot. He loves it. .
  12. Remembering Maryanne Amacher, A Sound Character By Bill Brovold .
  13. 17 years on the net and it never happened to me. I can't understand why anyone would ask Allen to go far, far, far away and never come back. .
  14. Happy Birthday!
  15. Sounds like a cool show, I wish I could have driven up and checked it out. thanks for the photo! !
  16. Nah...I'm invited to play at some coffee house this evening and I just went to the Princeton Record Exchange a few days ago. .
  17. I see the price suddenly jumped up to $134.98!
  18. I'm still recovering from those Coltrane boxes!
  19. I had it working on Vista, but I wouldn't use Vista anyway.
