Ordinarily, I wouldn’t get caught up in a name but Asian Americans are being attacked verbally and physically. See this article for instance, The Slur I Never Expected to Hear in 2020, but do a search for “Asian Americans and Coronavirus” and you’ll find plenty of similar articles. So, as a husband of a Chinese woman and father of an Asian American, when I hear the term that GA used — unintentionally I hope — I say, for fuck’s sake, stop using the term.

I’ve had this book for as long as I can remember. Might be one of the oldest books in my library, an old Scribners edition, which I may have purchased from the Scribners bookstore in Manhattan back in the 80s — what a great place that was for browsing! Sadly, no longer there and Scribners was acquired years ago and is now part of Simon & Schuster. Anyway, I never got around to reading it but better late than never.

I’ve read articles recently where these kinds of incidents have become confrontational and violent. Managers and employees are right but these incidents have also become political. Unless the law has changed, when entering private property you don’t have the to decide what rules of the property owner you wish to comply with.

That is my general feeling too. I never hold it against players to get what they can while they can.

The local record shop in town is contemplating such an approach.
