  1. He’s on his way! Long live Santa
  2. The Greatest Jazz Christmas Performance of All Time
  3. That’s an amazing story. How many of us can say they played with the likes of him. Very few I’d bet.
  4. Do you (or anyone else) have any recommendations, not necessarily just him, but blues in general. I have to admit ignorance but I had not heard about him until I read in the new book about Janis Joplin. Then I saw that there was a thread about him at Hoffman, https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/reverend-gary-davis.775111/
  5. This is a release from the mid 60s showcasing some Electra artists such as Paul Butterfield and Loving Spoonful. It was released on cd but is more prevalent in vinyl.
  6. I have all of these in cd but I could see springing for Roots and Herbs, and the Waiting Game.
  7. The iPhones do have some great cameras.
  8. I believe that’s correct, unless there was an agreement that said otherwise.
  9. Musso is on a Savoy disc (with two other unrelated sessions) called Loaded that isn’t bad; been years since I listened to this.
  10. Received the set and haven’t had a chance to really explore it but the more Janis the better. Reading the recent bio by Holly George-Warren. She didn’t have an easy life. Obviously a lot of pain.
  11. The Waller sides are great in this set. I’m sure he’ll love it.
  12. By the way, this is an authorized issue or re-issue, not a knockoff; Butterfield’s son wrote a blurb for the release (there are no liner notes) and the release was made with the family’s permission.
  13. Agree about Rogue One. It was a good stand alone movie. Also, the series The Mandalorian on the Disney Channel is better than these past few movies. I don’t agree about Abrams. I just don’t think he’s very good. A mistake they made in the last three was having two different directors; different ideas, different visions, etc.
  14. I grabbed the wrong photo, sorry. Here’s the correct one It’s a 1970 live date recorded in NY. Issued by Rockbeat Records. Two cds of material. This one is included in the Elektra box, which is still available from Amazon.
  15. I didn’t think it was that good. I mean. It was ok but not great. My son, who is a big fan, hated it. I don’t know if you saw the Times review, but it was pretty critical. There’s a significant drop off in quality between the Lucas directed movies and these last three.
