  1. There’s still a Champions League going on? Thought it was over
  2. I went through this with my Mother a few years ago. It was very tough and she lived with us. Don’t have anything more to add than what’s been said but it was a rough situation. Good luck to you as you try to navigate this part of your life.
  3. Near my old stomping grounds. I went to law school in Springfield.
  4. Loved the trailer.
  5. I think Tune Up was my introduction. Hard to get better than that.
  6. Great article. Makes you want to go back and listen to each of those songs.
  7. If you like Tune Up, I'd recommend End Game Brilliance, which is a two fer of Tune Up and Constellation.
  8. It will be interesting to see what Zidane what will do with RM. Frankly, I'm not sure it made sense for him to come back. He left on top and can only go down from here. Perhaps Isco will be restored as he and Solari never got along. He probably has to redo a big portion of the squad. Thank god they didn't hire Mourinho.
  9. Did you read the recent one where he revisits The Spy Who Came In From the Cold and Smiley makes a brief appearance. I didn't read a lot of the early books and have started to read them found them very good, such as Call for the Dead and A Murder of Quality. Among the ones I have read over the years, Little Drummer Girl and The Russia House stand out.
  10. For some reason, I started to watch Band of Brothers again. What a terrific series. Saw this a couple of weeks ago, a series about intrigue in Australia. Well worth a watch.
  11. Por cierto!
  12. Ed couldn't have said it better, especially the parts about viewpoints being expressed less harshly.
  13. With records going that far back, it's hard to conclude whether he was arrested or not. It's possible that after a certain amount of time, arrest records of that type would be destroyed under a record retention policy. In addition, records do get lost over time. At the company I worked at for over 30 years, certain records could not be found, even though we were careful about maintaining records.
  14. It’s funny but over in the US they have different titles. All Hell Let Loose is titled Inferno and Nemesis is titled Retribution.
  15. Maybe I’m getting old or jaded but I have the mini lp version of Blue Train, which doesn’t have the alternates of Blue Train or Lazy Bird, and that’s fine with me.
  16. Looks like it's a go. From Mosaic: "Thanks to the response of the Mosaic Records community we have begun the process of assembling the set. Bob Blumenthal is working on liner notes and we are ordering the masters from Blue Note."
  17. My favorite of his books is Armageddon. That one was very good.
  18. You beat me to posting the article. Interesting little article.
  19. A wonderful but pessimistic book: how the state can crush you if you’re not careful. As relevant today as It probably was when first written.
  20. Good article. Thanks for the reminder.
  21. The Howard McGhee disc is excellent. The Hipp I've listened to once. I've thought about selling it but maybe it's time for a re-listen.
