It's pretty amazing or lucky I guess that the new rules haven't come into play so far this offeseason.

Let's face it, we probably wouldn't want to be friends with any owner of a professional sports team.

The lawsuit has been unsealed and the trustee, Irving Picard, is asking for $300 million in "fictitious profits" as well as hundreds of millions because of what the trustee describes as willful negligence. According to a lawyer for the trustee, as set forth in an article that just appeared in the New York Times, the amount could reach $1 billion. If it's anything close to that, the present owners will, in all likelihood, have to sell the Mets and their station, SNY, just to cover these debts. The trustee has made some big recoveries in the Madoff litigation (there was one investor whose widow returned $7 to 8 billion to the trustee) and who is to say that he won't make one here.

I'll take Cuban as owner. Where do I sign? It will be interesting to see home the trustee is seeking to recover when the lawsuit is unsealed today. Apparently, negotiations collapsed yesterday, with the trustee reportedly seeking $1 billion.

Got an email from Jim that it has shipped. -
You have to wonder what happened to the deferred payments and whether they have the money to make them. If not, you'll see some suits from players. The sooner they get the hell out, the better off the Mets will be.

Selections sound good although I think this probably belongs in the new releases section, not here.

This article, detailing Madoff's involvement with the Wilpons (owner of the Mets) and the Mets, would seem to cloud the Mets financial future. The Wilpons have a meeting scheduled with Selig to discuss their financial difficulties. Frankly, I've never been a big fan of the Wilpons. In 30 years of ownership, they've produced one World Series title, one other WS appearance and less than a handful of playoff appearances. The father, Fred, has turned over day to day operation to his son, Jeff, who has been specatacularly unimpressive and meddles in baseball decisions. I hope their attempt to find an investor to purchase a minority interest leads to their selling of the team.

Just ordered it via paypal! -
Personally, I like to search (all over the web, if necessary) for the best scan I can find. At any rate, that's not really what mjzee is asking about here. The above thread has more details about advanced options. Little too advanced for me to understand. However, thanks for the link about the cover art site. That will be extremely helpful.

You can click on the option for iTunes to look for the artwork. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes when it works, it gets the wrong artwork. For example, it doesn't recognize Mosaics. I just go to either Mosaic or if it's OOP to Google, get the image, copy and paste it into the artwork field.

I'd sell mine for that

It's a harmless exhibition game with not much defense. People want to see scoring and for nobody to be hurt. People also want to see their favorites out there. My son was looking for all the Jets players. My son and I watched part of it last night and it was fun. It's obviously not as competitive as a training game because there are people are tackling, etc. and fighting for jobs.

Downloaded it from Amazon last night and got into bed listening to it on the ipod but fell asleep so I'll have to report back later with impressions.

I got this date years ago when I was deep in my Jazz Messengers habit and was trying to listen to anything and everything with Bobby Timmons. Agree with all the comments about the date. Great session. One thing I always liked was the cover: green letters on a yellow background. However, after reading some of the comments about Prestige's practices, you have to wonder if they just dashed it off. Recently listened to A Long Tall Drink of the Blues and it does have a haphazard quality but that argument at the beginning of the session gives it a distinctive mark.

Gil Evans Complete Pacific Jazz Sessions
Brad replied to Brad's topic in Offering and Looking For...
That's a definite better deal for sure. -
To put it mildly, this seller's ratings aren't the best but he has Gil Evans' Complete Pacific Jazz Sessions for $8 on a buy it now. Even if you get stiffed, it's only $8 but worth if you get it. I'm not the seller

Thanks all for the comments and pms.

Is this worth getting, features Booker Little, Louis Smith, Phineas Newborn, Frank Strozier and George Coleman? Any thoughts?

Do you have a list of CDs you want to sell or give us an idea generally of artists you may have. Thanks.
