  1. No major complaints so far from this end as a Mets fan. They have the chance this weekend to bury the Braves. Do I think it will happen? Hey, I'm a Mets fan and masochistic: I root for teams that end with "ets", Mets, Jets, Nets.
  2. It's one of my earliest Cds and I one love.
  3. It's kind of like a time machine, run by our moderator, H.G. Alfredson.
  4. I'll have to call tomorrow because I haven't received any shipping notice yet. Maybe they lost the order or were using the same back up server the Big O uses
  5. It's scary that these are the owners of the Prestige catalog.
  6. I lost about 800 posts, just as I was about to pass 4,000. If that's the worst of it, no big deal.
  7. I'm a bit of a history nut and in North Africa, there are a lot of unexploded mines left over from El Alamein when Montgomery beat Rommel. They're still quite dangerous and have in fact injured and killed unsuspecting tourists, which is why you're not allowed to walk the battlefield without an escort who knows what he's doing.
  8. Tooter, Just sent a PM. Hope it's not too late.
  9. I have some bullets and shrapnel my father picked up from a Spanish Civil War battlefield. We also have a huge collection of apotehcary jars and some very old clocks from the 1700s. Does that qualify?
  10. I'd like to get a copy of this in some way, shape or form if you get my drift. What are you looking for?
  11. Mosaic says they are expecting to receive the Singles this week.

    Tadd Dameron

I'd love to see Uptown reissue Dameronia CDs. I know Chuck talked about it awhile ago but also told us not to hold our breath.
  14. The Jimmy Rushing is a very nice CD. I'd advise you to pick it up while you can.
  15. Unfortunately, contractual weirdness seems to happen a lot. Shame. Maybe someone should start a thread about Mosaics we'll never see.
  16. Would agree with Jim but it's not a concept that I'd buy into. The only solo albums that seem to work are pianos probably for the reasons stated earlier in the thread.
  17. If you're a fan of LD, you have to pick up this set.
  18. Wow, those are awesome pictures. Nothing does a jazz musician justice like black and white.
  19. Stitt is a must have. My next set: I'm going to wait for the Dizzy set.
  20. Well, better late than never I guess.
  21. Wonder if there is anything else interesting in the Library of Congress?
  22. Any uncovered Lester has to be a significant find.
  23. I'm not familiar with the McDuff and Jones but will pick them up. Wasn't going to get the Jones but based on Magnificent's comment, count me in.
  24. It's the books that make the difference as a lot of the material is available already.
