  1. My personal favorites are the Master Jazz in the Mosaic mentioned by Lon. I also the Black Lions.
  2. From what I can tell as my German is practically non existent, the Eldridge is out of stock. But I've taken the suggestion and book marked it. I had done a search under Eldridge but it didn't show up. Several of you have catalog numbers. How did you get those?
  3. There's a game on YES today, the evil empire vs. somebody. Beats hoops however.
  4. Mostly the whole political forum but I do peek at it once in a while.
  5. Football as played in Europe is older than your so-called "football", so your use of " is misplaced in my opinion. Especially since in our "football", the ball is touched mostly with hands. I hadn't even thought of that... Except for the keeper.
  6. Check this out. Just click watch after page loads. This guy is truly amazing. http://www.sonnyradio.com/chrisbliss.htm

    Dexter Gordon

No offense to Clifford or akanalog, I just don't see how the BN material could be deemed boring. That stuff is just so vibrant, so swinging. Different strokes, I guess. Have you listened to the Prestige box. Some great material there. Just listened to Discs 7 and 8 today, tremendous.
  8. Picked up Tom Cat today and it goes right to the top as one of my favorite Lee sessions. I also like te new photo better.
  9. Rest in Peace Ray.
  10. A little late but Happy Birthday Hans
  11. What, you don't have that? Isn't that on the Blue Note box?
  12. I don't see much discussion, if any of the Mulligan Select. The work with Baker and Annie Ross are nice but the sessions with violin I had to mostly fast forward at the violin parts. Violin for me is like flute for most people.
  13. Disc 3 of the Mulligan Select.
  14. I'd like to see some John Hardee out. Few too people have the Mosaic or the Classics disc. He needs more recognition.
  15. I'm with Allen's original post here. If I can get some stuff I've never heard before out on CD when god knows when it will be I'll take it. I've got a few of their discs and pretty happy with them.
  16. This is a great idea. I'd order the Brothers but I already have that. Other than that, I'll probably order the other 5, at least 4 of them. This seems like a natural area for them to go in. If you're going to make full sets, then do Selects, hey, why not move into singles. I would love to seem them 2 cd sets again. While I'm not big into vinyl that would also be a nice idea.
  17. I've only listened to this in the car and have no point of reference previously but it's the music that I was focusing on particularly the title track but what I liked is how they threw a standard in there and played it in a more conventional hard bop way. So, you get a great mixture of styles and playing.
  18. I've gotten similar emails and just delete them. In fact, I think the sender's names show up on google as spam senders, etc.
  19. I'd have to get to know her better before I could be persuaded.
  20. First time I've heard the Gigolo and it was worth the wait. Not sure the sound will be totally pleasing to audiophiles though.
  21. I saw that and thought it was a bit sloppy. As I have the TOCJ and there's only one alternative take I passed on it.
  22. I have the Japanese 3 CD set and it's great. Really swinging in the groove Red.
  23. This is on backorder both at the Grove and CDU.
  24. Any one see that article in last Saturday's NYT about iPod customer service and how the hard drives are going fast?
