  1. Harold, It does. I stuck it in my car cd player tonight and it sounds great. Great sounding cd.
  2. It doesn't. I tried it.
  3. I just checked the website in question and it is copy protected and from the looks of it, you can't download this to iTunes although they say they've "reached" out to Apple. There it is. Further Update: I just stuck it in my office computer and you have to agree to a license agreement. I kid you not. It then turns out you have to install software for playing it which because this is a network computer I can't do so. Jeez. I hope it plays on the regular cd player.
  4. I just picked up several of the new Columbia/Legacy reissues and they've got a legend on the back of the cd case some of them that I've never seen before, as follows: Compatible With*: Playback: CD/DVD/PC/Mac PC: Windows 98SE/ME/2000SP4/XP, Pentium II IE 5.0, DirectX 9.0, 128 MB RAM. Mac: Ok Ripping: PC: Windows Media Player 9.0 Mac: Ok Portable Devices: Windows Media (playforsure), Sony Walkman Digital Players Limited Copies ? cp.sonybmg.com/xcp; README.HTML *Certain computer may not be able to access the digital file portions of this Disc. 6. Anybody get these yet? Does anybody know why the prior reissuer of Bethlehem (Avenue Jazz or something like that) stopped?
  7. That's unbelievable. For that price I'd part with mine. Unlike Brownie, I still can't get comfortable with Ventura. Flip yes and there's a great session on there with Maggie.
  8. Maybe the buyer's user id was kept private because he was embarassed.
  9. I get KJazz through I Tunes and listen to it ocassionally but it doesn't seem as good as it used to be. For favorites, I like WKCR here in the NY area and WBGO isn't bad either.
  10. He had shock therapy. I have never heard of insulin therapy. GOM, what inaccuracies did you find in Paudras' book. I"d be curious to know. Even with that, we have to take it for what it is, a memoir or a recollection of an impassioned friend. I am glad that Mr. Pullman is dotting the "i"s and crossing the "t"s because this is one book I will surely want to have. Until then, I will wait however.
  11. I already have this but someone gave me as a present another hardcover. It's in mint condition, has not been opened and so forth. The retail price is $30. Apparently, the price has gone up as Amazon lists this for $35. I would like to get $25. Shipping will be $5 in the US, more overseas. If interested, please pm me or email me. Paypal, money orders or checks (if I know you) is fine. Thanks. Since there are no takers on a sale, would be interested in a trade.
  12. Seems like an odd statement but I blelieve Chris is probably right; neatly turned phrase although strange at best.
  13. It never ceases to amaze me that the Mosaic set is not sold out but Curtain Call is great, yeah.
  14. Night at Birdland for me but what about some of the European sets. Those are pretty good.
  15. Less time and I think the problem is compounded by our having too much to listen. I have tons of cds that I've only listened to once. What I've been doing is going through my collection and ebaying what I don't think I'll listen to again or would not really miss. It involves making some hard choices but I think in the end it will allow me to go back to things I've never really listened to closely.
  16. Wes, your public awaits your pronouncement! or ?
  17. Thanks Lon, I'll check it out.
  18. I prefer the spines myself, which is why I've passed up the longs until I can find the spines on ebay, notwithstanding the cost.
  19. If it's in mintl like condition, I would say that's a fair price. I also remember seeing them on ebay for a lot more but I'd pick it up for that if it's in good condition.
  20. I called Mosaic just now and while they didn't give me a number they think it'll be gone in two weeks.
  21. Where the hell is this comin' from, especially from a guy who's been here for 5 minutes.
  22. Yeah, let's all relax. I may have to relent on the O'Day. I'll check Mosaic manana.
  23. I d o n ' t t h i n k i t ' s r u n n i n g s l o w . I t s e e m s j u s t f i n e t o m e .
  24. I just listened to those Mosaic site cuts, never having listened to them before, and I was favorably impressed. I'll be getting this.
  25. WKCR will be having a memorial broadcast for Lucky Thompson starting at 2 pm on Sunday and running through 9 pm on Monday. Those times are EST.
