  1. Have to go with Rosco on this one. Nice disc, actually 2.
  2. Have to agree. The chase is sweeter. Took me a long time to get the Clayton Mosaic and longer to persuade the seller to sell. Once I received, it I played but I can't say I played the heck out of it or I reach for it a lot.
  3. Gonna have to let it go

    Howard McGhee

    Here's the cover.
  5. Reminds me of that woman who sued McDonalds for not warning that the coffee was hot.
  6. Up, for trade as well.
  7. The Jamal is really nice. It's only my second cd of his. His lightness on the keys amazed me, his sense of touch. The Shaw is up next.
  8. "Odd choice", thought those were my words . My copy says it came out in 1991 so that seems like a long time to me unless it came out sooner. However, there are a lot more people who want to buy it now than when it was out so this makes sense to me. Plus, it has to be better sound from that old 16 bit.
  9. Guess I'll have to sign up. Don't know how they can afford to do it. Either that or there's one hell of a markup at retail.
  10. Oh, you know it will be!
  11. I've never checked this place out but took a look at their web site so what is it exactly? Do you get to buy any cd for $5.99 or do you only get the one in your queue for tha price and how's their inventory on jazz?
  12. Hats off to BN for reissuing Elmo Hope's BN output. This is a great cd and obviously will be much better soundwise than the 80s release. I have the two JRVGs but will be picking these up and maybe selling those. Although it's been known for awhile, I like the Ike coming out again. Wonder what the liner notes will be like in comparison to the Mosaic. Sound will be better though.
  13. That's not ugly, that's fugly Speaking of ugly, how about hairless cats. Those are pretty disgusting.
  14. There's actually 3 cuts from that session, For All We Know, I See Your Face Before Me and Sweet Summer, all recorded on June 26, 1960. Personnel: Quebec (ts) Duke Pearson (p) Israel Crosby (b) and Vernel Fournier (ds)

I'd second Lon's rec about the McGhee Classics as well as Dusty Blue. I mentioned this elsewhere just the other day but if you have Phillps Ventura Mosaic, there's a great Flip Maggie session on there. The stuff with Bird is also fantastic.

    GUESTS

Isn't the number of guests more or less the same or maybe a little more than as members? 102 or whatever sure seems like a lot.
  17. My wife thinks that I (and my son) spend too much time on the web and has said recently that she'd like to chuck the computer. If she ever said it's the computer or her, well, I'd miss her
  18. Big Wheel, You might not want to cancel those. The Jamal is not copy protected and the Shaw doesn't appear to be either. I picked up the Gordon, the Blakey and the Brookmeyer and those are. Don't ask me to explain the logic.
  19. Harold, It does. I stuck it in my car cd player tonight and it sounds great. Great sounding cd.
  20. It doesn't. I tried it.
  21. I just checked the website in question and it is copy protected and from the looks of it, you can't download this to iTunes although they say they've "reached" out to Apple. There it is. Further Update: I just stuck it in my office computer and you have to agree to a license agreement. I kid you not. It then turns out you have to install software for playing it which because this is a network computer I can't do so. Jeez. I hope it plays on the regular cd player.
