  1. Pretty obscure. Never seen it, yet listen to it. Love who's on it. Wish more Joe Pass and Jim Hall Pacific Jazz's, leader or sideman dates, were made available in the US. Only have one of each:
  2. Not to fixate on labels, like I have an obsession with Blue Notes or something, but I have to say in my opinion, Sir Richard Branson's quality department details at Virgin Classics match Alfred Lion and Francis Wolff's detail for the highest quality of music in the most appealing of packaging. Like Lion and Wolff in the mid 60's, Branson even gets edgy with his side project, Virgin Venture, which released a Last Exit record. I place Branson right up there with the top producers in music, and this is the same dude that has bungee jumped off a Vegas hotel and flown in outer space. Wow. Cheers.
  3. 🤘Ha, Ha, Patrick, you nailed it, love your post, you singing my song. Heat was turned stoned cold on their turf. LOVE what Atkinson has brought to the Cavs. Love to see the transition from last season under J.B. who couldn't get any farther than the Celtics last postseason; Detroit can keep J.B., who led the Cavs from advancing to 3rd round last year. This year, thinking we are going to beat the Pacers, Celtics, which will be a series rematch, but far different from last season, we are going to steal Oklahoma's Thunder. I can feel it.
  4. Yeah, weird oversight. Didn't even notice. But BN quality is not the cornerstone of the BN CD era, especially when it comes to the Connoisseurs and RVG's. The Kicker (among many others) is the flagship of who the hell is not looking in the quality control dept before it goes to the pressing plant. Now that's funny 😆
  5. 😊 Pay $ to hear the '68 rejected Jackie session that Norman Connors supposedly f*#ked up.
  6. Right? Nothing like getting re-hipped to stuff that gone dusty for decades! Got re-hipped to Morgan, Byrd, Mobley, Shorter, etc., because of threads like this.
  7. Nice one, especially track one.
  8. Back to Kenny. I still don't know how this became classic Kenny, it's alright, much prefer Introducing over this, but glad to have it, its nice on the ears. Listening again, I really do like this record. I didn't realize what a treat it is to listen to Kenny. Arguably, my favorite guitarist.
  9. Meant to keep the Kenny fest going but wasn't looking and picked this gem instead, Dave and Kenny are brothers!? Thought they were cousins. Whatever the case, they're both awesome.
  10. Have the Savoy, but that top LP looks really hip. Too bad its opp. Never seen this before, wow.
  11. That top record "Sastanak" looks amazing. Really, anything with Julius Watkins on it, I'm interested.
  12. Listening again, it almost seems to precipitate where Miles would be going in almost 6 years later. Trippy stuff.
  13. Yeah, have the Wayne Shorter VJ's that were issued, which I really like (no one sounds like Wayne but Wayne) but can't compare much more with the other VJ's I have which is Kelly at Midnight and the Frank Strozier, no Lee's. Right, not going to blow your mind, but I like how you framed it: solid-ca 1960 hard bop. Cool by these ears. 👍 I haven't broken this cd out about the time I bought it about in 2004. Just got to track 5. Wow. Thanks to re-hipping me to this, really digging it.
  14. Have Free Form in my hands right now. Spinning now.
  15. Really digging the new KB On View double CD set, are those Tina Brooks tracks on CD2 really new? Keeping the Burrell vibe going:
