  8. Prestige from that time usually put design credits on the fron, in little tine block letters....but I can't find that on this one. Where is it hidden?
  9. Sid Catlett + Israel Crosby = YES
  10. The kids today, when you tell them such things, they think you're just getting senile.
  11. I got the obit notice a few days ago, but I only have you beat by those few days for not realizing that as well, and for being embarrassed to not even think to look and see at least once over the years.
  12. I know, right? I almost think Robertson might have dubbed in a few spots? Because maybe two guitars here and there? But never NOT Gabor.

This middle-aged white chick who directs traffic at the local DMV? "Helen",she says, but I think it's really "Helga" when she gets off work, I heard somebody calling to her from their car one day and she stepped right on over. I hear she was on LOA for the first two weeks of February, it figures.
  14. Yeah...Blue Afternoon put me to sleep then and now. Happy/Sad just doesn't "meet expectations" for me...I like the WTFuckly?!?! Side of Tim Buckley!
  15. The cult of RVG is all meet, right, and salutary. But...
  16. STARSAILOR is it for me, then LORCA. Other than that, it's kind of "on the way to this" and then "on the way from that". Live shows, thoiugh...not sure if that's gonna be for me or not, that was a long time ago...when did Lee Underwood get on board? And does it really matter? I'll almost fully agree with Felser about the late-period studio albums, but with two exceptions (songs, not albums) This one, whee he thinks he's Al Green, except that unlike most every other fool who thinks they're Al Green, this guy's got the chops (vocal & emotional) to actually go there and know about what he's getting in for. and this, maybe maybe just because? Drag about the drummer, but oh well.
  17. Two guitars, maybe in a few spots? But Szabo is definitely on here, so it's not Robertson by himself. Like I said, still not fully convinced.

  19. Always trust you ears!
  20. people be stoned all the time and just use words any damn way.
  21. listening to various "early" Blue Note recording's made at WOR. The engineer (so far), is always Doug Hawkins, and it seems like he did a REALLY good job capturing a full group sound, balance is great, so is the presence. What do we know about this guy, other than he also appears to have done some early work for Prestige? Was he a WOR guy who alos did radio shows? Or what?
  22. It would, but this is one time I'm going to go along with the whole "too difficult" line. Some of that stuff (all?) was made (band)on the run, for some labels that may or may not have any tangible ownership today, or wouldn't until called out of the woodwork...and the Japanese stuff...has Mosaic ever shown either the desire or the ability to go there? What this would make a great one of would be a "tree", like they used to do. Everybody get their best transfers, let a tree-builder make the best copies of each record, and then put the tree out to people who care enough to ask for it. Ground rules being the same as always - NEVER make money off of it (and never share with anybody you even halfway think might) and if a LEGIT release of ANY of it ever comes to market, you are morally bound to buy it. Although...is Maxene Roach talking to anybody about anything archival?
  23. John Simon producing would certainly leave the possibility open for Robertson.
