Well, yeah, it is pretty much what it looks like, but even if it is, it's still better than you might expect, like hearing Eddie Harris on "Street Life" is an unexpected jolt of pleasure, as is him playing the "sharky's theme". It's all very "Burt Reynolds" in the lyrics (where there are any", and very Pre-Condom Era in vibe, but you know, hey slice of that life is still a slice of life.

Another way to look at it is that it knowing about a potential good thing is one thing, but formulating "hopes" that extend past the known facts around it is something else entirely.
