There's some information in Bill Crow's Facebook post... Apparently Bailey gave up drumming and became a flight instructor...

"There are a few records showing up that I felt were on there because they had to be - The Jaime Branch record ..." I agree - but they did leave the Branch record off the list actually... (Zoh Amba is a fresh face, on youtube is a video with her Immanuel Wilkins and Micah Thomas that i liked quite a bit, doubting though whether they fit the bill)

It's an awesome beer - but then so are probably many in the 5-10 range you haven't tried... In that style, Rochefort 10 is a more affordable classic and at the top end I recommend e.g. beers from Struise like the Pannepot and the St Amatus https://thehoptimist.co.uk/product/pannepot-old-fishermans-ale-de-struise-brouwers/

It's funny you mention Westvleteren... Since this summer their beer is available at some shops in the Netherlands (Mitra) legally for a reasonable price (4.80 or so)... Meaning, at least, that some competitors (Pannepot for instance) are now pricier and harder to find... I've now given Westvleteren as a present two or three times, had one or two myself... But still find it hard to accept that they've decided to transition to becoming an ordinary special beer

let me bump this thread in connection with the Byas Mosaic having come out... I am still wondering about the mystery altoist who is identified as "Kirk" Bradford in the Mosaic liner notes (it should be "Kirt" since his real name is "Kirtland", almost certainly named after US senator Kirtland I Perky). So far, there were only two tracks available, Rose Room on the Caete LP and "Let's Go" here... and based on those two tracks, my tentative guess (not written above and not well-substantiated) was that the altoists on the two tracks may well be two different people (with Bradford a more likely candidate on Rose Room than on Let's Go). Now in the Mosaic there are three sessions and quite a few more tracks... I am wondering what others think... do you hear a single altoist in those three sessions?

I'm not a native speaker but to me "not for sale in the US" just means you can't walk into the Tower Records on Times Square (or some other American icon) and hope to score a copy... Also, maybe better not resell it in the US. It doesn't say "not for sale to the US".

Syzygys – The Complete Studio Recordings I used to play this one a lot when Tzadik was on Spotify a decade or so ago ... when Tzadik came back recently, I tried several times to find it but just couldn't remember the names of the artists or anything (plus I misremembered the color of the cover) ... now resdicovered due the Tzadik posts on the Free Jazz Blog

Yeah, that Jazztone album seems to have quite a few different colors (as seen already e.g. on Discogs). I guess PJC is more interesting for stuff that always costs at least 30€ or so... But with things that would normally cost like 5-8, it's weird to see them for 20-30... (Their webpage is great if you want to feel good about the value of your collection though...) That said, I guess these days I am spoiled from having good and frequent access to all the Amsterdam stores ...

Back from Paris... Superfly Records near Centre Pompidou was by far the most productive visit (20€ for everything in the picture except the 10in which is from Dame Blanche), Dame Blanche is a nice shop and I could have found more under different circumstances... Paris Jazz Corner is a beautiful place but with a pricing rule that seems to be "Discogs + 15" or so I may not be the ideal client
