  2. is that west end girls, excuse me west end blues, one of the heaver 78s in yr collection? i have a ben webster on session and it is by weight significantly heavier than any other 78s i have, any other
  3. this lp is definitely not available in large quantities, i would even love a beat up 5 dollar copy
  4. wait wait wait they are opening it in the *same* bldg, correct? cecil hotel. i hold weight to that, i wonder if its really the same "room". i wish it was more about the jazz and less about the fancy, but its new york, so the jazz is gonna be awesome no matter what, right?
  5. you know i never noticed till u point it out, but thats JIMMY i the photo. you know i never really noticed. i dont have this yet.
  6. are the physical cds cd-rs or actual printed cds? i would like to do a physical format on this. i have a tape of warne n art at dontes but its only 60 min and i remember it being 77, not 74, have to check that, im on board w/ this, does laurie pepper records do an email list?
  7. its weird we had a notice here that freight tracks which usually have slower trains every now and then, are going to be used now for faster speed, more frequent, non freight trains, so watch out the notice said
  8. re: this lp, was this Reuben Wilsons "working band", on this???
  9. thanks, i filed it with my other savoys, not with the promos and not in my west coast jazz specific section
  10. went there one time, to see jackie, found it odd how the freight train rolls right thru town, assumed the track was there 1st and they just built around it. cause who would purposely deign something so dangerous. it obviously was an ACCIDENT....i mean they were obviously just trying to safely cross the st and something went wrong and i am awaiting video or investigation because something went very very wrong. i guess didnt it say one place, that train 1 passed and the proceeded but train 2 they didnt see, or something to that effect.
  11. no dawg that IS the front. i did a shot of a one handed flip of it to prove it. in pic 1 you can see the lp 1/2 way out of the jacket, on the RIGHT side. the back slick IS the front slick, no actual "back". yea im guessing a promo-- isnt it wild!!!!!
  12. i dont have a definitive answer for that yet.....
  13. according to the oct. 5, 1968 billboard, six weeks from its release, it doesn't even exist
  14. well i way back got two: soul station and true blue, i did like SS very much (im just going to be talking about SQ here) but true blue i found to be too "loud". i should revisit im sure the clarity was good on both. back to the tracks, i should get that one
  15. i too am on board w/ this
  16. i bet that would of been amazing
  17. oh thats cool well id love to see an art blakey release
  18. was i correct on the other items then- steve allen show, monk, art farmer? 1957? have you ever heard of Hank playing with Monk at all before. Maybe I was wrong all along. I dont know. Art Farmer seemed to recall something with I asked but.....
  19. wilkie has tons more special tapes from that club alone. im quite suprised hes involved with a release. its probably hard to wish for others, im gussin its very hard to get stuff released paperwork-wise
  20. he was very much a self starter he was very very prolific with releasing his own solo albums thru the 80s, all top fusion albums.
