  8. wooohooo i guessed right, too bad i didn't bet. but, i figured if the fix was in, the decision would have gone to Del La Hoya. that would have neccesitated(sp?) fight 3, and generated even more cash. i agree the fight game is very corrupt, but i was raised around boxers, (dad, uncles) so i still watch.

  13. RIP. i loved that show- Hovis was a crack up. not to hijack the thread but i have a Hogan's Heroes story: as some here know i an a home health care RN. i was taking care of this WW2 vet who had survived the Baatan Death March, and 3+ years in Japanese POW camps. he became a multi millionaire after the war in the gaming industry. we spent many evenings watching Hogan's Heroes, playing cribbage, and eating Japanese food. he'd tell me horrific stories of the torture he endured, then say "man, i'd have given anything to have been captured by the Germans". HH was his favorite show, and would watch it on tv 2-3 times a day.

  15. A woman driver is pulled over by a policeman. "Is there a problem, Officer?" "Yes, madam, you were speeding." "Really?" "May I see your licence please?" "I'd give it to you but I don't have one." "Don't have one?" "Nope. Lost it after drunk driving four times." " I see...May I see your vehicle registration papers please?" "Nope. Can't do that either." "Why not?" "Well ... I stole this car." "Stole it?" "Yes, after I killed and dismembered the owner." "You what?" "Lost my temper. It was messy. His body is in a pile of plastic bags in the trunk if you want to see." The policeman looks at the woman for a second, then backs away to his car and calls for back up. Within minutes there are more police cars circling them. A police sergeant approaches the car, gripping his half drawn gun. He clears his throat, then calls to her, "Madam, please step out of and away from your vehicle." She does so. "Is there a problem sir?" "One of my officers told me that you have stolen this car and murdered the owner." "Murdered the owner?" "Yes. Could you open the trunk of your car please?" She does, and they both look down into a dusty, empty space. "Is this your car, madam?" "Yes. Here are the registration papers." The Sergeant scans through them, and sees that they are in order. "My officer claims that you do not have a driving licence." The woman rummages through her bag, then hands her licence to the puzzled Sergeant. "Ma'am, my officer told me you didn't have a license, that you stole this car, and that you murdered and dismembered the owner." "I'll bet he told you I was speeding, too!!"
  16. haven't gotten around to picking up his new one, of course i'll join the rest of the country and go buy it, tho i'll wait to see if the CD prices dip after the first. i have a ton of his stuff on vinyl. when i was a youngster, i listened to Cash, Jennings, Jones, Haggard, Etc., much to the annoyance of my Jazz musician father. i even had an uncensored version of "A Boy Named Sue".
  17. G*d Bless him. i had a feeling he wouldn't last long after his wife died, as his health had been declining for several years. that Hurt video is one of the best i've ever seen. isn't it a Tool cover?
  18. HEH HEH HEH
  19. man, my history is kinda dull. joined the Air Force at 17, and spent 4 years as a Corpsman stationed in the SF bay area. went to college hoping to get an art degree, but discovered that as good as i was, i wasn't that good. so, i went to nursing school. if i remember correctly, there were only 4 other men in a class of 50 . been doing that in a multitude of positions since. now i'm a mostly stay at home dad (working part-time in home health), with a 4 year old daughter, and a 10 year old step-daughter. i started doing art again, and have taken up drums and didgeridoo as a hobby. in between all this i've been: janitor off-set printing pressman photolab instructor window washer dishwasher file clerk i tried being a drunken lout, but it didn't pan out.
  20. Mosley in a decision. i don't think De La Hoya is hungry enough. should be a good fight tho.
  21. got one like that last week. replied that i was going to forward the e-mail to a buddy of mine in the FBI. LOL, having me as a buddy would probably keep most people out of the FBI. i then told them to EMF. <edit for horrific spelling>
  22. i'm listening to some Didjeridoo music. very soothing to my soul.
