i caught the bug a couple of years ago, 41 or 42 i think. Jazz was always played in my house when i was a kid, as my dad is a jazz musician (drums). as a teenager i lived next door to Rufus 'Speedy' Jones, but never took advantage of either's knowledge (tho i did study drums with Rufus for a while). i was mainly into Soul and R&B. spent the bulk of my 20's listening to Punk, 30's was Blues and Bluegrass, 40's Jazz.

yesterday there was a mild breeze blowing in from the southwest, so we in the Las Vegas Valley got a taste of what the poor folks in SoCal have been breathing. YUCH!!! my eyes and throat burned all day. today the winds are still blowing from the southwest but at 25-30 MPH with 40+ MPH gusts. so now we have smoke and dust. are the winds as bad in SoCal? if so....

my 11 year old is fully aware that i disapprove of that style of dress. i don't mind the piercings, baggy clothes etc, but i draw the line at slut-wear.

my family and i went to the mall last night looking for a black skirt for my 11 year old step daughter (school function). now, i haven't been to a mall in quite some time. i hate the crappy parking, the crowds, overpriced everything and the "food". i was amazed at how many people were wearing belly shirts and hip huggers. i mean, people that have no business wearing them. fat guts hanging over pants, spare tires jiggling over the edge of tight belts. pants so tight it leave little to the imagination. and the women were wearing them too!
