There was a great place in St. Paul. It was in what looked like an old house, and I think it was upstairs. Huge inventory, and just about every genre. Anyone know the place that I'm talking about, or if it is still there?

Agreed. He could still deliver the goods afterwards, but you really have to hunt for the money cuts on those records. The early ones were jazzier, more consistent, and less focused on giving the first trumpet a hernia.

I dragged home many, many dollar Beny More albums from the flea market, back when you could find this kind of stuff for a buck a throw.

Thanks! He also has involvement with Arlene Francis's show. I'm on a What's My Line kick, and I'm finding all these Six Degrees of Arlene Francis connections. It is humbling to listen to albums by artists who are forgotten or were unknown to begin with. This is a really good album. Interesting arrangements and harmonies.

Interesting, but I thought the kinds of details you are describing would be attributed more to speakers or amps than to CD players. I didn't realize the model of the CD player could make this much of a difference. Glad it is working out for you!

In the 1990s, my wife's band played a nudist/swingers party. She said the experience reinforced the axiom that the people most willing to disrobe in public are the people you least want to see unclothed.
