  1. Regarding the availability of "Harlem Jazz Anecdotes" through a public library, my local library, Bethlehem Public Library, takes special requests for books that are not available to it through the regional library system it is a part of. Indeed, I made a special request for "Harlem Jazz Anecdotes" within the last year and was able to take it out on loan for a specified period with no chance for renewals. This is something that I have done for other books not available in our regional library system. In such instances, I check WorldCat.org for the availability of the desired book. Worldcat will show if a desired book is available and where based on proximity to your location (I understand Worldcat can search worldwide). This presents an alternative to the special loan request. That is, you might go to the closest source that has your desired book and take the book out directly from that source. In the case of "Harlem Jazz Anecdotes", a copy was available at a college library 11 miles from my home and that library would have loaned me the book based on my local library card (or a state library card). I was just too lazy to do so. Of course, I could have read the book at that college library.

  7. Recently watched "Remembering Gene Wilder" and it included a still from "Start the Revolution without Me" in which Gene starred with Donald Sutherland. Saw that film as a double header with "Monty Python's Flying Circus" knowing nothing about either film. Hilarious evening. Sutherland was great.

  11. If you like Eastern Rebellion, and particularly with George Coleman, #5 was issued on June 23, 2021 (CD Japan did not list it as #5 but the cover clearly indicates it as such, also can be found on discos) and #6 will be issued on June 19th. #5 is a live recording at the Jazz Club October, July 26, 1976 and is on YT. #6 is allegedly from the 1976 Umbria Jazz Festival-CD Japan does not provide a date. Both supposedly never issued on cd before. A recording from the July 20, 1976 Umbria Jazz Festival is loaded on YT but no indication as to whether this is the basis for the cd release.

  16. Yes, I thought abut Misc. Music.
  17. According to David Haney on Facebook and Wikipedia Bob Rusch of Cadence Magazine had died. Wikipedia indicates on January 14, 2024. Yes, Bob Rusch was not an artist but it felt strange to put this under any other section.
