  1. This is depressing. Not a fate that anyone deserves. I think I saw "Black Christmas" on TV before Porky's came out. I saw Porky's in the theater (back when an 11 year old could sneak into an r-rated feature) and it was quite the life-changing event at that age! It still cracks me up.

    Joe Newman

Damn, that looks tasty...will have to find a copy!

    Joe Newman

I prefer not to compare Terry with Newman (or anybody for that matter). They are completely different players with their own personality. I love the playing of both.
  4. No kidding...I much prefer the "Playboys" cover...
  5. Chet Baker & Crew is a must-have! Picture Of Heath...that's the same as Playboys, right?
  6. yep, this is a classic session that I'm very happy to own.
  7. I'm going to have to find that one...I'm a fan of all involved.
  8. "Yes, i'm turnin' to stone 'cos you ain't comin' home. Why you ain't comin' home if i'm turnin' to stone? You've been gone for so long and i can't carry on, Yes, i'm turnin', i'm turnin', i'm turnin' to stone." kind of a medley of that song and this one... "Mr. blue sky, please tell us why, You had to hide away For so long (so long) where did we go wrong...." All this because somebody said the phrase "Out of the Blue" here at work...
  9. Stand! is also a favorite of mine, Broom is a class act all the way.
  10. Back when I lived in Seattle, I saw Tom Skerritt at Jazz Alley all the time...he was a regular.
  11. I'm sick to death of movies that look like video games...I won't be wasting my time on this one.
  12. Thankfully my cat has been "dry food only" for the last few years (I weaned her off the wet stuff). Even when she did eat wet food, she wouldn't touch that "sliced" stuff for anything...she'd bury it underneath a newspaper, dirty sock...anything she could find to drag over it!
  13. The only reason I ever shop at Best Buy...is that they've killed off all the competition so there's no local choice. Ala Wal Mart....
  14. Picked up the DVD this week and was nicely surprised by how good this movie is. Craig is excellent as Bond and it's fascinating to watch his personality evolve through the film. Eva Green is memorable as Vesper and adds more depth than is normally expected from a "Bond Girl". Personally I'm also happy that the villain is more low-key than usual as the film successfully keeps it's more serious tone without someone chewing up the scenery. I'm hopeful for the future of the franchise, they've built a great foundation to launch from.
  15. Sad...their music always brings back some good childhood memories, I bought the first album when it came out (I was 6). Smokin' still has one of the coolest rock organ solos on record....
  16. Betty Hutton was hilarious, she is brilliant in Miracle Of Morgan's Creek.
  17. "Cthulhu for President, why settle for the lesser evil?"
  18. I hate to admit it, but I've become addicted to CSI. I've rented all the discs for Season 1 & 2 and I'm currently working my way through them. William Peterson rocks....
  19. Quick...someone call the Bengals and let them know that Pacman is available! He would fit in perfectly with the rest of the thugs on that team...
  20. Happy Birthday!!!
  21. My policy is to avoid new Windows operating systems until at least the first Service Pack comes down the pike. You get to continue using a relatively stable system while all the early adopters get to deal with all the bugs & security holes... I'm perfectly content with using XP and see no reason to upgrade anytime in the near future.
  22. I lived in Charlotte for 1 year, I then took a demotion from work to be transferred to a different city...that's how bad I wanted OUT of there. Absolutely no soul, no atmosphere, no class...bad traffic, overzealous cops, sky-high taxes, Nascar fans... If you do end up moving there, I would suggest crossing the state line into SC, it's not any nicer but it is cheaper to live there.
  23. Seems like it's all suburbs with no city...
  24. You haven't lived until you've heard the Muzak version of "What's Your Name"....although I think I prefer it to the original!
