  1. Can't believe this sucker is out of print, great album. If anyone has a CD for sale let me know. I haven't heard it for years and it's driving me NUTS.
  2. Jay Z is a J-O-K-E Tell me what'cha got....a talentless hack.
  3. Personally I really love this album. Kenny has a very pleasant voice (kind of Nat Cole-ish), the arrangements are nice and there are a couple of kickin' instrumentals as well.
  4. Personally...I'm wishing for a Chargers/Saints Super Bowl. That would be a FANTASTIC game. Brees vs. his former team. I hope the Ravens don't make it...they are BORING!!!
  5. I predict the Bears self destruct thanks to the schizophrenic play of their quarterback....
  6. I'm really glad the Giants lost...they deserved to lose. They have been an embarrassment to the sport for most of the season. They are much better at running their mouths than playing the game. (We don't do that...we're men!) Eli is a joke, Coughlin is out of step with his entire team, Tiki's mind is on his television future....etc.
  7. For the most part I agree with this...except for how HORRIBLY the Chiefs played yesterday. They looked like a team that should NEVER have had the opportunity to play a playoff game.
  8. Crazy game...one of the craziest from recent memory. I feel sorry for Romo, he shouldn't blame only himself for the loss. On another note...some credit has to be given to Seattle. They have been obliterated by injuries all season long. 8 different starting offensive line sets, losing their QB for 4 weeks, the league MVP for 6 weeks, multiple injuries to the receiver core...and not to mention losing 3 of their 4 starting cornerbacks for this game. But those backups stepped up and played solid defense tonight...the Seahawks haven't had much heart this season (and even worse luck) but they showed heart tonight.
  9. I enjoy this album, but it's probably my least favorite of the second quintet dates. Not really sure why, probably because I had already had fallen in love with the earlier albums...plus I was already a fan of Bitches Brew, In A Silent Way, etc...which made this album less of an "event".
  10. I believe the timings on the back of the Collectables CD cover are incorrect.
  11. That Natalie Portman rap is HILARIOUS.
  12. Et Cetera is my favorite Wayne session from the Blue Note years. The performances by all five musicians are unbelievable. Guy Agreed. I find Et Cetera (and Schizophrenia for that matter) to be much more enjoyable (IMO) than Speak No Evil, Ju Ju, etc.
  13. I'd like to get a copy of the photo inside the Chess Soulero release, Burrell in a train(?) station..
  14. It Don't Mean A Thing, 'less the Sonar Goes Ping.
  15. Count me in as a Jackson devotee. His early work can be a "tad" overwrought at times, but by the time he settled at Prestige he was right in the proverbial groove.
  16. I would've loved to have been in the audience for ANY Red Garland gig....
  17. Wow, I find that surprising. To me, the Byrd's are some of the most enjoyable Blue Note sessions. I think I could live without most of the Hubbard, Shorter, Henderson dates (except for Goin' Up, Etc & Our Thing)
  18. Agreed. I would put Feelin' The Spirit in the classics genre, it nails the mood perfectly. If you adore Midnight Blue, Idle Moments & Blue Hour...Feelin' The Spirit is probably also a favorite (or it should be).
  19. Haven't picked it up yet, but definitely interested. Moore is joined by Robert Walter & guitarist Will Bernard. Think Skerik makes a guest appearance... It's on Telarc (!) I've really enjoyed both of his previous solo releases.
  20. As a Seahawks fan I must say the footage of Ben getting sacked 9 (!) times filled me with great happiness and joy.
  21. Now you are the one who is nuts. How do you spell pretentious? ELP.
  22. No I'm not...I just have my own opinions.
  23. I'm looking forward to this one...hell, might go out and see it tonight....
  24. I lived with my Grandmother till I was 4, my first exposure to music was the records that my Mother & my Uncle had left behind when they both went to college. I fondly remember those 45's...Rolling Stones, Steppenwolf, The Beatles, The Guess Who, Badfinger, etc...plus albums like Bill Cosby's Himself, Pet Sounds, Beggar's Banquet... Later when I went to live with my Mother I started listening to CSN&Y, Jim Croce, Seals & Crofts, James Taylor, Judy Collins, Janis Joplin, The Doobie Brothers, etc. When I was 6 years old (1976) I discovered Kiss...that was when our paths diverged. I think the last album we both loved (at that time) was Heart's Dreamboat Annie. Kiss was followed by Boston, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, AC/DC, etc. She got tired of listening to that stuff so she decided to turn me on to "higher quality" rock: Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Queen, Yes and others. I diverged yet again when I discovered Iron Maiden & Judas Priest (1981 by this point). Again she questioned my taste and again she countered with bands that she enjoyed: Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple & Black Sabbath. I'll always be grateful for that..I still listen to them today. (I've never quite figured out how I missed Zeppelin during the 70's, I listened to the radio all the time but I never owned a copy of Zep 4 until 1982) It's funny that she has never gotten used to my love for jazz. She appreciates the talent involved but it just doesn't "hit" her. It's okay though, we can still hang out and crank In Rock to 11.
  25. This guy isn't worth 9 pages of comments...
