Season finales... Elementary The Vampire Diaries Bates Motel New Girl Still catching up with (though I'm several episodes behind)... Castle Grimm The Americans

I fell in love with this show immediately, I was hooked from the pilot episode and that hasn't wavered throughout the season. Jonny Lee Miller makes a great Sherlock and this is the best vehicle Liu has had in quite some time. Easily my favorite new broadcast show from this year.

I think you made the right choice. I'm from that part of the country but I could never live there again, I get depressed just thinking about that prospect. I think it's easier to drive around Los Angeles...

Don't get Sundance channel - waiting anxiously for the DVD. It is also on Netflix streaming.

I didn't bother watching Hannibal, I was so burnt out on the character from all the films that I had zero interest in watching the show. I've already got plenty of serial killer stuff that I already watch, don't need anymore right now.

I know many people are complaining about season 4, but even though it's not as strong as the past I'm still enjoying it, I love the cast and that's enough to keep me entertained.

Community - Season Two Community matches my sense of humor better than any show on television.

Everything is better in a minor key.

I use a television but it functions primarily as a large computer monitor, my mac mini is the primary component. Most of my watching is done via streaming these days; Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and direct from network websites. I split my internet bill with my roommates and I pay for Netflix streaming...cost is less than $20 per month. I get free broadcast HD channels with a rabbit ear antenna but I almost never watch things that way, I usually wait until the next day and watch on Hulu where there are less frequent and shorter commercial breaks. Haven't had cable TV in years and don't miss it at all.

I'll most definitely miss him. I started watching him on Sneak Previews on PBS circa 1981 or so and followed him throughout the years. I always appreciated the fact that he gave a fair shake to movies from all genres and didn't come off as completely elitist like so many of his contemporaries. R.I.P.

The optical drives in Macs are the achilles heel, I have a 2 year old Mac Mini and the only disc it will still read is the installation disc that came with it.

How are they failing exactly? Will they not even transfer to the computer or not open once they are there?

This doesn't sound like a file problem to me, more like a problem trying to read the burned DVD.

The best parts of VON are the Olympic Studios tracks from Feb 16 &17, 1969, right before they played Royal Albert Hall. Those performances are killer! They are scraping the bottom of the barrel if you look at the plethora of material that has been officially released over the past decade. However, even lesser Hendrix (is there such a thing?) is still so many leagues above most other artists that it's completely worthwhile.

Finished up Season 3 of Alias. That was my favorite season so far.
