  1. "Drew's Blues" from "Introducing Kenny Drew" on Blue Note.
  2. My turntable is a Technics SL-1800mk2, no idea how old it is...I bought it used in the late 90's. It's just fine for my small LP collection.
  3. Either "Openoffice" (free) or Apple's iWork program ($70 instead of $140 for Microsoft's suite). Both programs can save files in Windows format so they are totally cross compatible.
  4. The Pilgrim by Wishbone Ash, from the album Pilgrimage.
  5. Tony Romo - broken left clavicle, average recovery time 8-10 weeks. Jon Kitna, starting QB.
  6. Kind Hearts & Coronets is AWESOME!
  7. Microsoft own the business market (computers, servers, etc). Most companies aren't willing to upgrade a single system, much less convert their entire network and all their computers to Macs. Especially when that means re-purchasing licenses for Office suite software, etc. It's more cost effective for them to keep upgrading their Windows network instead. However, if I was starting a company from the ground up right now, I'd choose Macs in a heartbeat.
  8. I wasn't that crazy about Fringe on it's initial run (stopped watching around episode 5), but when I revisited it recently it totally drew me in. Guess I just wasn't in the frame of mind for it before. Love it now.
  9. The only reason I have Windows installed on my iMac is so I can use CAtraxx (which I haven't found a good Mac equivalent of) and to sync with my Xbox360 which I use as a media extender.
  10. The primary thing that keeps Macs safe is that NO program can "install itself" on a Mac, ANY program that is installed will prompt the user to enter in the computer administrator password to allow the application. Most spyware are hidden programs within other programs, which you can sneak through on Windows, but not on a Mac. Plus, the operating system is so simple by comparison it makes it easier to secure...and the file system is far superior to NTFS.
  11. Still watching "That 70's Show"...and loving every minute of it.
  12. I would have cancelled already but they gave me a free month, so I'll use it again and will most likely cancel afterwards. I had a blast using emusic, but I really prefer lossless audio files to .mp3 these days.
  13. The price is affordable for the product you get. I'm running a 4 year old iMac, even though the specs are quite far behind the current generation...it still has more than enough punch to run Snow Leopard & Windows 7 (using bootcamp). It has run flawlessly and I never have to fix anything. I would never switch back to PC, since getting a Mac I only need to worry about using it...not constantly having to do clean up duty to maintain it.
  14. Opeth - Harvest (from the DVD "Live At Royal Albert Hall") http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHFgL0vtlg8
  15. just got around to listening to the first clip. I could tell it was hank instantly, as Jim said, who else could it be? No matter what the chops may demonstrate, the shit Hank is playing is DEEP.
  16. Actually, I consider Hendrix to be a logical step post-Coltrane, so it works as "jazz" for me. I also wish that Phil Lynott had lived long enough to give us a few more Thin Lizzy (or solo) records.
  17. The only thing I remember about Plano is shopping centers, condos & look-alike housing developments.
  18. Bingo. I've used the double-blind testing mode in Foobar on my PC to compare FLAC and high quality MP3 (LAME V0) and I can't tell the difference - that's using HD595 headphones from a Total Bithead DAC/Amp. Having said that, disc space is cheap so when I'm in front of the PC I listen to lossless format, but for anywhere else in the house or elsewhere the iPod carries MP3 files. I recently did some side by side comparisons of CDs & ALAC (Apple's version of FLAC) and the only difference I can tell was probably related more to the transport than the file type. In fact, the ALAC files playing from my computer actually sound better than my CD player at this point, so when I buy a new CD I rip it to the computer and the CD might not get touched again for months.
  19. That 70's Show - starting on Season 6
  20. Another "missing" Prestige track. Coleman Hawkins & Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis - Night Hawk The original LP release was duplicated for the reissue, the early 70's version of the LP added an extra track "Lover" to the tracklist...they then forgot it and didn't include it with the OJC CD release of the album.
  21. Fuckin' broke = sell CDs
  22. Remember The Future (Part One) - Nektar (1973)
  23. Joan of Arcadia - Season One
  24. That's a bummer, I grew up watching him. One of the first movies I ever remember seeing was Some Like It Hot. Other favorites. Operation Petticoat The Rat Race Sex And The Single Girl
