  3. This is the coolest summer I've experienced in Austin, I mean, it's still gotten hot, but not nearly as bad as last summer. The constant daily thunderstorms have helped the temp I'm sure.
  4. yep. I thought we already had a thread about this.
  5. Glad you're digging it so far. Ghost Reveries is a very dense record, takes awhile to really sink in (at least that was my experience, I usually end up liking those kinds of albums best).
  6. Veronica Mars - Season one
  7. I tried to type out the directions but tags vanish once posted, lol. Let me try again and see if I can trick the thing. I'm using * instead of brackets for this example. *youtube* */youtube* Just copy the URL from the address bar in youtube (leave out anything after the "&" in the url, you don't need it) and paste it between those tags listed above. As as example, I took this URL: You delete the "feature=related" thing. so it looks like this *youtube* When using brackets, that becomes....
  8. JaMarcus was perfect proof that it takes more than "personal pro day stats" to make a good football player. How many times have we seen highly touted athletes come out high in the draft and prove that they shouldn't have been anywhere near a professional football field? Been happening as long as I can remember. I'm of the firm belief that if your team is bad enough to be able to pick first in the draft...you need to trade down and get some extra picks...you need more help than the one guy is gonna give you.
  9. For once, it's actually cooler in Texas than the east coast.
  10. Both album have Thad Jones on them, we're both cool.
  11. first album with Dick Katz: Helen Merrill - The Feeling Is Mutual w/Thad Jones, Jim Hall, Ron Carter, Pete LaRoca, Arnie Wise
  12. Entardecendo En Saudade (Corea) - from Larry Coryell Live At The Village Gate (1971)
  13. I think we need to send him here... ...it's in Norway, maybe it would be isolated enough for him to not cause harm to others.
  14. You need to reset that router and see if you get a different light configuration. There is usually a reset button somewhere on the router, usually you have to get a pin or something to stick in a small hole, they are generally little red buttons, you hold them in for about 15 seconds while the router is plugged in and then it should go back to factory default setting. Routers are generally configured in an Internet Browser, they should have an address either on the bottom of the router or with the paperwork. You can type that into a browser window and it should take you to the setup screens (that's a good test to see whether it's talking to the computer or not). Then you can start from a clean slate and make sure that an incorrect setting hasn't been locked in there. Sorry the easy suggestion didn't work. This Microsoft page has the address settings for the most common routers and some basic setup instructions. http://www.microsoft.com/athome/organization/wirelesssetup.aspx
  15. a town named DILDO!
  16. Thanks Joe, that answered the question nicely. I've heard some of that Zephyr stuff (the tracks in the Tommy Bolin 2 disc collection), never heard the entire albums. I need to see if I have that "Sister Andrea" track, that sounds killer by description. Bolin never sounded "comfortable" playing in straight rock bands to me, he might have made more money that way, but I think his spirit was more adventurous. Unfortunately, his "habits" were quite pricey and a gig in Deep Purple probably helped keep that going.
  17. I'm not convinced the one on the right is a "bird".
  18. Are you playing guitar on this session?
  19. A couple of my favorite fusion albums from the 70's are "Spectrum" and "Mindtransplant". The common denominator with those two albums is the rather tragic guitarist Tommy Bolin (who later ended up in The James Gang and later Deep Purple). How did he get hooked up with these cats? Anybody know? From the research I've found, these are the only 2 fusion type albums he recorded (aside from some rather odd earlier work). Just seems like an odd combination. Was it primarily just Cobham & Mouzon trying to find a "hot shot guitarist"?
  20. one more clip, the song Closure from the Damnation album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YOH9pdkWdA
  21. x2 Can either of you recomend a disc or two of Opeth for a newbie? Many thanks. I created a thread for the band. Some good video clips there. Lon's recommendations are good ones.
  22. Bones: Season 2. Need something "fluffy".
  23. I really like the Drama album. Especially all the extra bonus cuts on the reissue. There's a great instrumental called Song #4 (Satellite) with some killer Howe. The other reason I like that album, is because the majority of the sound is the power trio, Howe & Squire really crank it up on that album. Machine Messiah has some brilliant segments.
