Yes, at the very least it's a year long contract, with the possibility of getting hired on full-time. I'm just incredibly grateful to have a steady 40 hour per week gig, it's been WAY too long. Here's hoping others get good news soon. It took over a year to find a full-time gig, so incredible patience was required, along with the willingness to not let myself get buried in despair. I don't regret anything in life, so I'm taking it as a "character test" and moving forward, looking back does nothing.

I need to check this one out. The only Miles recording from this period that I'm familiar with is "Aura" (which I enjoyed). I have never owned any of the post-On The Corner material.

Yep, me as well. I feel sorry for bashing firefox now.

I was using AVG and had TONS of problems with it...most notably it was a TOTAL recourse hog and slowed my computer down to a crawl. I just switched to Avast and it works much smoother and my computer has regained it's speed.

Sunn O))) is considered "drone". The horn arrangements on that album are fairly far in the background, but it's definitely an interesting listen. Cuong Vu is also on the record as are a number of other guests. It should be available via emusic, they carry Southern Lord.

re: "the passion for surround". Outside of the very small group of audiophiles, many consumers only own surround sound systems anymore. Their primary stereo is whichever one is hooked up to their DVD player. Some of my friends that are surround nuts are really looking forward to hearing these Crimson discs.

Red is one of my favorites as well, but it's probably either a love it or hate it kind of album.

They have the series on Netflix, I'll have to check it out.

I Can't Get It Out Of My Head - E.L.O. fitting, methinks.

I've kind of been that way for a few years now, stopped ignoring rock and went back to exploring both newer artists and also bands that I missed out on when they originally "happened". Plus then there's the whole retro/stoner/doom stuff that I'm addicted to. Still listen to jazz from time to time, but I have to be in the right mood for it these days.
