I thought I'd done similarly well getting an NY mono "Indestructible" for £9 last summer. I only realised last week that it was 'earless' so probably not such a bargain. Sounds good though.

That's good to hear. I was only looking at purchasing a vinyl copy this morning. My copy has blue/ white labels rather than the later blue/black. Having said that I've no idea how many different pressings there are of this title.

I'm going to have to re-read this thread and revisit any Moran discs in my collection. I had no idea he was so controversial. I really not listened closely enough to him but my overall impression was he was pretty decent player but one I would struggle to pick out in a BFT.

I've just 3 and found them to be perfect, although they can come out of shrink wrap with odd dusk marks and even finger prints. Nothing I can't clean off.

I think this Mosaic gets more play than any of the others. A times quite primitive ( first 2 sessions) but always unfailingly interesting despite or perhaps because of it's flaws.

Joakim Milder has released a couple of CD of BFs compositions . Until Spotify came along if not had the opportunity to hear Intervall.

I saw Fujii in a trio the other night at Pathhead ( a small village outside Edinburgh. Tom Bancroft (drums ) lead the completely improvised set . It was a stunning concert that really defies description. I felt truly privileged . I ended up buying 4 discs featuring her or her husband ( trumpeter Natsuki Tamura ) I think her Ma- do quartet is possibly her best group.

Great cover -- photo and design. Seconded - awe inspiring cover/photo The cover photo is a clever one. The title "Silver Cornet" might imply some through back to yester- year a thought which is confounded by the freshness of the photo , cropping just through Bobby's head and the blending of the title with the photo. So the overall effect ( to me at least) is that the cover should give a good guide to the music therein. I 'm left expecting intimate and intense music ( photo, layout) but from with the tradition ( title) By comparison Hatology covers aren't as helpful. Cover shots of lampposts or clouds seem less informative. I suppose the typical Hat customer is expecting something pretty abstract anyway , what ever the cover. The diverse nature of Chuck's output demand and get better cover art. Just my take of course I'm looking forward to this

not played 78s for a month or so. Another burst of activity, flipping them over after 2 plus minutes. Originally part of an album Bud Freeman & his windy city five-----What is there to say/ Keep smiling at trouble---------(Parlophone UK) Freeman is always worthy of attention

I hated "Turm me loose " the music rather than the sound. Ghastly. I had the original LP of Half Note which was severely under powered . I suspect the original recording isn't up to much .
