  1. The release of the CD has been mentioned previously in the INA's jazz vaults thread.
  2. New Warne Marsh album ?!? That's reason to rejoice
  3. A favorite tune in Sonny Rollins' book during the 60s. Check his version from the Sonny Rollins in Sweden 1959 concert (with Henry Grimes and Pete LaRoca).
  4. This CD and a second release 'Bill Evans Practice Tape no. 1' was put out by Bill's son Evan Evans. For Bill Evans fanatics only. Not that they're bad, there are pretty good moments but it's all early stuff and I am not sure the artist would have approved his son's decision to put out these private tapes. Harvey Pekar's review of the initial E3 release. No idea if there were other CDs in this series (Pekar mentions five but I am not sure more came out.
  5. Wilbur de Paris At Symphony Hall (Atlantic, stereo, green label)
  6. For those who missed the Mosaic Herbie Nichols box, BN put out a 3CD set with all of Nichols' recordings for the label
  7. Article in The New York Times. Will they ever find the lost items from the Atlantic tapes archives?
  8. I know of at least two people from the US that bought DVDs from INA and were satisfied. They have some knowledge of french and managed to order without problems. Since you speak the language you should have no trouble at all getting what you want. The McLean is a bit short on time. I am sure you will find other items of interest in the INA jazz vaults to fill a DVD. The McLean by the way was not taped at Le Chat Qui Pèche... Looks more to me like a French TV/Radio studio!
  9. Bennie Green/Paul Quinichette Blow Your Horn (MCA/Japan) not together but with their ensembles (Decca 1953-1954 sessions)
  10. This week, INA also added images from its archives. Some interesting ones in the jazz section! Type 'jazz' in the Recherche window! Couple of samples... Miles Davis recording the music to 'Ascenseur pour l'Echafaud' Thelonious Monk enjoying a soft drink at the bar of the Olympia Theater.
  11. Am I the only one who noticed that the hat doesn't show in the reflection? Or am I (not) seeing things? I noticed that when I posted the image. Thought it was amusing and even gave me time for reflection
  12. The Mosaic box was the first reissue of the Atlantic UK Clickin' with Clax album. It remains the only reissue of the material so far!
  13. The Fall 1963 Prestige catalogue which came out shortly after the album's release lists LP7257 as 'Bad Bossa Now'.
  14. Roland Alexander Pleasure Bent (New Jazz, mono, reissue)
  15. A very Happy Birthday to you
  16. Get it! It will open horizons and may blow your mind!

    Lee Katzman

Will jump on this one when it comes out (soon, let's hope) by Blue Jack Records: An unreleased 1963 session with Teddy Edwards, Jack Wilson, Leroy Vinnegar and Nick Martinis.
  18. Sonny Stitt 'I Remember Bird' (Catalyst) with Frank Rosolino!
  19. Rhoda! Flurin! Swiss Alps! A Summit meeting
