  1. I dug the Hazeltine Trio Senor Blues.
  2. So, was this stuff from Always Something There and The Look of Love? Or is it possible there's BN Stanley I don't have? Enquiring minds need to know! ← Dan, there is BN Stanley that you don't have. Here's the deal. As I said, there is material on this twofer that hasn't been reissued since (and not before, so it's never been released anywhere else than on this twofer, afaik). Here's the breakdown: 1963-10-21 - cherry point, one o'clock jump (from “A Chip Off The Old Block”) 1964-01-24 - trouble #2 (from “Hustlin”) 1967-02-17 - she's a carioca (ela e carioca),samba do aviao (song of the jet),night song (theme from Golden Boy) - all previously unissued. 1967-06-23 - bonita, better luck next time, flying jumbo - all previously unissued. 1968-04-15 - smile (from “The Look Of Love”) 1968-10-01 - little green apples (from “Always Something There”) 1968-10-28 - those were the days, song for bonnie (from “Always Something There”) ← Thanks, Jim! Email incoming!
  3. Thanks Chuck, and I appreciate it that you didn't encourage me to get a discography already.
  4. No connection problems here - chalk one up for DSL, I guess. If you know of an album title by the artist you're searching for, you can find his entry that way and then use the name link on the bio page.

  6. I wouldn't look for a second renewal. Ray, is the 100 episode mark still that critical? Now that there are "new" syndication offerings I've noticed some crappy sitcoms suddenly entering syndication ("Grounded for Life" fer instance) and I'm thinking to myself, this show has been on the air for 4 + seasons??? No way! So I can only presume that some shows go into syndication prior to that magic number. Or else my boycot of 99.9% of all network offerings has worked and I really don't know anything that's on anymore, and crap like "Grounded" really has reached 100 episodes.
  7. From today's Boston Globe:
  8. In that previous thread, I leaned slightly toward the Hans/Brad side, not in terms of whether Rich deserves the Mosaic treatment, but rather in terms of whether I'd did so much of him. But I agree with Lon, the discography makes this look better and better, especially all the sets with Sweets on board. I anticipate this will be on the 2006 Mosaic Christmas requests.
  9. Ray Walston Sam Walton Richard Thomas
  10. Nathan Lane Huston Street Harry Warren
  11. I would certainly hope not, as once my queery was answered here I deleted the message and forgot about it. Even if I decided I really did want it, I'd have waited for the seller to relist, presumably at that .99 opening bid, and hope to get it a bit cheaper than my adrenaline-driven last-second bid.
  12. Is it the effect of the hair loss is there something of an age difference between you two lovebirds? Seriously, Lora's real purty, you're a lucky guy and I wish you both all the best.
  13. That countdown of course is also to the moment that you can no longer take part in the activity shown in your avatar.
  14. Or maybe they're just discontinuing the box sets and dumping that stock? Were there regular OJC releases available at such a huge discount? Or just the box sets?
  15. Obviously your shop owner knows nothing about the reason why he got such great pricing. But this is very distressing news, as it suggests that Concord is dumping stock, presumably the beginning of the end of what had been Fantasy's approach to their treasure trove.
  16. Desmond Howard Ronald Reagan Bonzo
  17. Actually, 17 minutes til couw came through with the specific Roulette date.
  18. Thanks guys!
  19. Looking at an E.P., "Joe Sings The Blues", Williams with the Basie Band. Columbia SEG 8016 Date given is 1959. Tunes are Baby Won't You Please Come Home Ain't No Use Good Morning Blues Very confusing. Wasn't Basie a Clef or a Roulette recording artist throughout the 50s? It occured to me that this might be from the "Just The Blues" Roulette album, but the tunes aren't there, and that was 1960 anyway. Can anyone shed some light on how this one came about and whether the music is available elsewhere? Thanks!
  20. Maybe not so "significant" but this was a pretty nice discovery/surprise:
  21. Thanks, Lon. And Rod, I'll take your suggestion under advisement.
