Thanks Paul, Dad got it for me for my birthday, and actually my brother unknowingly gave it to me for Christmas, so it was the gift that kept on giving-I exchanged it at Borders for a CD! But yet, its an excellent and moving book. I'll also give a thumbs up to the Kinsella books (Shoeless Joe is better than the movie, IMO). There's also a nice book by a Boston sportswriter called One Pitch Away which tells the story of the 1986 post-season, including the sad story of Donnie Moore who gave up the home to Dave Henderson which led to the Sox coming back from a three to one deficit against the Halos and ultimately killed himself.

Apparently it will be more of a musical than the original, which only had two tunes. Considering that even if I were in New York, I could hardly afford to get tickets to see those two, I'll be interested in the movie also, since its the only chance most of us will have.

OK, but I would think they wouldn't have to drop the price 75% to clear them out. Wouldn't they disappear at 19 euros, too? Man, imagine if Borders ever ran a sale like that!

You're trying to compare alcohol abuse to betting on baseball. There are signs in every clubhouse about betting on baseball. There are no signs about drinking yourself stupid.

What you are refusing to recognize is that gambling is a completely different problem when it comes to baseball because of its past destructive force. On top of which, even accepting your supposed equivalence between gambling on baseball and drug or alcohol addiction, Eck and Molitor overcame those problems. There's no indication whatsoever that Rose has. If Rose spent the next 30 years of his life lecturing kids, college players, minor leaguers and major leaguers on why gambling on baseball is not allowed, then, when he is a doddering old man about to join Ted Williams in a vat of Liquid Nitrogen, I still wouldn't let him into the Hall. If they do let him, I hope not a single current member shows up for the ceremony.

Can anyone explain who wrote this tune and why this tune has different names and composers listed? I think its also appeared as John Paul Jones as well as Trane's Blues, and its been listed as both a Coltrane composition and a Miles composition. That's something that's been bothering me for a while, and I'd appreciate if anyone knows the truth behind it.

I saw this at a store in Connecticut over the holidays. Unfortunately I neglected to ask the owner about it (and she went to Norwalk High with Horace). I started to lose interest when I saw that Andy Bey provides vocals on a majority of the tracks-I have a hard time getting into Horace's lyrics and Bey is not a favorite anyway.

Steeplechase has a great catalog and between them and Timeless, you ought to easily be able to find three discs to purchase, and then shipping is free (and his list price is less than JazzLoft's $20, by at least a couple of dollars).

My understanding is that data discs will not accept music files in CD format, so as long as you are only burning data files (and I imagine, even audio files in wav format) then data discs are fine. But if you have music to burn in CD format, you need music discs, not data discs.
