  1. Does anyone know if this house still exists? I'd love to drive by and pay my respects.
  2. Socks! Gee, thanks Hanukah Harry! (Remember the Saturday Night Live routine. One of their best.)
  3. Here you are: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...s=tab%3DSelling http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...s=tab%3DSelling
  4. Got 'em up on Ebay in case anyone is interested. If you want to trade your Basie Live Mosaic, let me know. BOTH HAVE BEEN SOLD. THANKS.
  5. Charlie Parker Mosaic and Joe Maini set. Happy Festivus!
  6. Hey! Do you think we all turn into pumpkins at age 50? I just figured that you all started listening to Steve and Eddie and shit like that!
  7. Wow! You're a grandfather? You have awfully an cool taste in music for a grandfather!
  8. Well, I do love boogie and blues piano. I love the Mosaic Ammons and Lewis set, so perhaps I'll give this one a try somewhere done the road. Thanks guys.
  9. In other words, it's not "great." Or is it? Incidentally, nice bike! Just sold mine (Suzuki 650) after getting sick of fixing the damn thing constantly.
  10. Wow! This looks great. I'm on this one.
  11. Can anyone comment on this one?
  12. Yes, it is strange how little Ella Fitzgerald there is here.
  13. Thank you all. Looks like there's lots of research ahead of me.
  14. It can be pretty tough to lose a family pet. My condolences.
  15. I'm just starting to get into jazz vocalists, and I'd like to explore some of the better recordings. I thought that this list thing might be a good way to get some input. Here are my 5: Anita O'Day - Anita Sings the Most Billie Holiday - Complete Verve Masters Dinah Washington - Dinah Jams Shirley Horn - You Won't Forget Me Peggy Lee - Black Coffee Thanks in advance!
  16. My only exposure to her vocals are on Lovano's Celebrating Sinatra. It's my least favorite Lovano disc, and no, it's not a coincidence. I like her on Lovano's Gunther Schuller album (the name of which is escaping me). Sounds a little like the background vocals on the Star Trek theme, but tastefully done. I'm not sure why I felt compelled to say this. Good way to restart this thread, I suppose.
  17. Weston first, but get the Art Farmer single CD as well. It's another $15, but you'll save on postage.
  18. Oh man, I didn't know that. That's too bad.
  19. Oh man, this looks great! Put me down for a copy! Not the same old, same old blues stuff. Some very interesting choices!
  20. Are you trying to say that ceiling cat will be leaving us in 2009 to go to the "other side," so to speak? Is this a visual representation?
  21. Thanks, man. You made my day!
  22. Thanks HP. I just sent you a PM. You DM (da man!).
  23. I called Mosaic and they said they don't have any more. I have copies of the music, but would really like to read the book that came with the set. Somebody? Anybody? Incidentally, if anyone has one of these sets, and is interested in selling or trading it, please let me know. (I know I'm probably grasping at straws here.)
  24. Dusty Groove gave something a bad review? Unbelievable. I once read one of their descriptions of a play-along record that made it sound like a jazz masterpiece.
