Wow. Thanks for this link. They've got a ton of Cumbia which is the bomb. The only thing I know is to do a random click here and there. Probably going to dig what's there more times than not. Beastie Boys and Pink Floyd are Capitol artists I have in my collection. Also have some from EMI which was a sub of Capitol. For that label I have D'Angelo, Parliament, Peter Tosh and RHCP.

Still feeling giddy after the all-nighter?

I listened to both Legacy and In My Time today and enjoyed both. I can't really give a definitive answer there as - to me anyway - they're both great big band albums. I also like State Street Sweet, which is on a different label and from the mid-90s. I don't think you can go wrong but others may have differing opinions.

The Pac Jazz one's get the recs but his later work stands out to me, especially those on Mack Avenue which have impressive line ups that include Renee Rosnes, Kamasi Washington, Dick Oatts, Gary Smulyan, Jeremy Pelt, Lewis Nash, et al. And I make that rec while having that Mosaic Pac Jazz set - great tunes but also of their time. His more contemporary albums perhaps don't get the credit they should. Anyway, I've neglected his 80s albums, so I'll try those as well.

Michel Portal on tracks 1 and/or 7?

So I'm thinking the Osby track 3 is the last track on this album. And I'm guessing the theme is albums recorded and/or released in Germany?

I've read Ozzy telling a story that when he went into rehearsals with the band prior to the recording of Never Say Die (I think that's the one), they guys were jamming out playing jazz. Ozzy was pissed, saying he came to rock, not fool around with jazz. Other interviews I've read with Ward and maybe the other guys talk about them loving some jazz of the day. I agree, one doesn't necessarily hear much influence, but apparently the love for it was there.

Man, that's also apropos because the Sabbath guys were all jazz fans. Well, Ozzy wasn't I don't think but Geezer, Bill and Tommy most certainly were.

As you get older you tend to see at least a little "derivative" in just about everything. She's also in her early 30s, so she'll develop her style even more.

That's the best way to have this album as reportedly all digital versions are from a needle drop. Correct, no RVG for this one (that I know of).

I'll be checking out every Chico album this streaming platform has to offer. This one with Coryell is excellent.

Is John Surman the sax player you mention? I'm also wondering if that's him on bass clarinet on track 7? That's an interesting song btw. Kind of an off-kilter boogaloo track with the drummer providing some cool interplay. The guitar on 8 is so out of place to my ears in terms of style, sound and how the track is mixed. I keep thinking it would be better as just a trio with bass, drums and sax. Is it Charles Lloyd on sax?

Really wish I could go. Line up and venues definitely look better than the Smooth Jazz Cruise!

The new Reincarnation of a Love Bird is part of the Ultra Vybe/mono reissues correct? Just want to make sure as the DG link doesn't say and I don't see Ultra Vybe mentioned on CD Japan's link. I'm assuming so but just verifying...
