  1. Belated Happy Birthday tf!
  2. The CFL Awards were announced tonight. And the winners are... Burris Fantuz Owens Knowlton Elimimian Archibald I suspected that the writers would name Burris as the league's Outstanding Player when they named him ahead of Calvillo when picking the All-Star team. All six were first time winners. Owens was a unanimous selection. http://slam.canoe.ca...5/16321561.html BC has signed Ben Archibald. As a left tackle who received the award for best offensive lineman, I'd have to think that this is a huge benefit for Travis Lulay. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=354846 ***** Edmonton has released Jason Maas. The surprise to me was that they kept him around as long as they did. He hurt himself years ago. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=354932
  3. Happy Birthday Mike! In your honor, I'll play some Cal Tjader tonight!
  4. Happy Birthday Hans!
  5. Here's the up-to-date list of free agent signings. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/feature/?id=34189 Avon Cobourne to Hamilton Geoff Tisdale to Calgary Dwight Anderson to Montreal Wes Lysack to Toronto Tad Crawford to Montreal ***** The Ticats will play the Stampeders in Moncton this year. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=354376 ***** The league has announced the 2011 schedule. The season will begin June 30. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=354393
  6. Happy Birthday 2011 Sandy!
  7. It looks like I've got a lot of research to do! It also looks like an Amazon gift card will be coming my way, so I expect I will be getting something available from them.
  8. I think that Borders is a case of mismanagement, but Barnes & Noble has big problems too. The days of the book superstore may be over, as it seems that people would prefer to wait a few days and save money by buying from Amazon.
  9. Happy Birthday 2011 BFF!
  10. Happy Birthday medjuck!
  11. Happy Birthday 2011 zen!
  12. This year's Hall of Fame inductees have been announced: Don Matthews Danny McManus Terry Vaughn Joe Montford Ken Lehmann Chris Flynn Gino Fracas (builder) http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=353310 ***** Larry Taylor has signed with the Stampeders. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=353863 ***** Free agency begins tonight at midnight. Here's a short list and a complete list of who will be available: http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=353928 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/feature/?id=34189
  13. Very sorry to hear this. He was the first jazz musician I was aware of when I was a little boy. I remember that he suffered a fall a few years ago, and I never heard about him since. Just yesterday I heard a duet of him with Mel Torme on Sirius. I'll play something of his tonight.
  14. My computer didn't work today, and I'm writing from the library. When mine is back up and running, I'll look into these!
  15. Happy Birthday 2011 Bruce!
  16. Wow! How many years would it take to listen to all of that collection at, say, four CDs a day?
  17. Looks great, Mike! I've bookmarked it.
  18. My scheduled delivery dates were Feb. 11-16, and my order arrived today. That's the first time I've ever received an order from Amazon Marketplace that arrived before the first delivery date!
  19. Happy Birthday Michael!
  20. It's packed away in a box somewhere! But one song in particular was a favorite of mine, and I believe that it was one that was withheld from films. I can play it in my head now! Dum dum de dum. Dum dum de dum. Dah dah de dah. Dah dah de dah.
  21. Bill, I've got that one! As I recall, it was released in the US the summer of '71, but perhaps I'm wrong about that.
  22. The Als will sign Ahman Green. I don't know why. They are sold out season tickets, so they don't need the publicity. Former stars who sign with the CFL are always busts. Green is 34, and played last year alongside Jeff Garcia for Omaha in the UFL. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=353123
  23. Today is the 47th anniversary of The Beatles on Ed Sullivan! I remember it well, as I guess everyone else old enough does. A couple of days later, Sarah Palin was born. I felt in 2008 that the press did not sufficiently discuss the youth of Barack Obama and Sarah Palin. At the time, I told my friends that my Meet The Beatles album is older than Sarah Palin!
