    DVD-Audio from LP

why DVD-A? I'm very impressed by SACD
  2. Doesn't look like my copy. Mine looks like any other ECM disc
  3. I don't know about the lettering, but good purchase! One of my favorite recent discs. I could listen to As Clear As the Sun all day
  4. I was going to ask the same thing, kind of: did you catch the Allman Brothers too?
  5. Very interesting, Jack, and a nice complement to what we have on recordings. Any chance you have a stash of audio tapes lying around? Interesting that they played "Freedom Jazz Dance" and "Mood" live; neither of those tunes appear on any live recording. I didn't realize "Joshua" continued to be played after ESP was recorded -- it appears several times in '63 and '64, never again afterward. Also, I'm kind of surprised that you don't recall hearing any tunes from the later albums -- "Masqualero", "Nefertiti", "Riot", "Paraphernalia" all crop up quite a few times in the recordings. Did you see these gigs in clubs or in one-off situations? Guy ← I wonder if there ever will be a legitimate release of any of these concerts by Legacy. I'm sure they have some of these tapes
  6. I agree. I even bought the expanded Goodbye Cruel World (most dated production EVER-so 80s!!) just to continue the story!! Actually the second disc is a lot better than the album-as-issued
  7. I believe both juries did their job. Although I think both OJ and Jacko are guilty of the crimes, let's face it, reasonable doubt was raised in both trials. As funny as it sounds, the glove didn't fit, so they had to acquit. And this kids parents did have a long history of con jobs and lawsuits. ← But why make it about the parents? Wacko-Jacko was on trial, not them
  8. is he going to join OJ on the golf course now?
  9. It's a reflex with most people on this board. Anything a Republican does is instantly criticized and ridiculed, no matter what it is.
  10. just had a baby a week ago, and a 2.5 yr old daughter is always running around here. I DON'T SLEEP
  11. oh no, don't bring "che" back!! GregK.
  12. man, that Duran Duran box is a steal!
  13. Sorry, I was without internet access for about 10-11 days or I would have posted this one sooner. Another apology: it's for Detroit area stores only http://f.chtah.com/i/16/276579827/BXDetroit_531.html
  14. I doubt I'll wait for yourmusic.com to get it; I saw the tour these recordings came from and loved it, and Footprints Live! is a great album, so this is one I'll probably get on release day

Hopefully they include the Pangaea and Agharta material on this set.
  16. well, this explains the thanks Elvis gives Mrs. M in the Delivery Man booklet. I was wondering about that
  17. I'm going to try to make this one. I had to miss the last show because it happened to be on my wife's due date (turns out the baby didn't come until June 4! A boy, too!!! woo hoo!!).
  18. happy birthday my man
  19. Yep, it's good, although slightly front loaded, as it starts to drop off near the end, but not by much. I just got When I was Cruel today from yourmusic.com, which I've read about as being his best rock album since the 70s. Whether that's true or not, I'll enjoy finding out!

    Chicago

well, yeah, they pretty WERE a different band by then. Terry Kath was dead and Peter Cetera completely took over.
  21. new Son Volt compilation out with 5 unreleased tunes, including their interpretations of Tulsa County (not too different from the Byrds version), Aint no More Cane and Open All Night (very different than the original). I've always liked Son Volt more than Wilco, particularly once Wilco decided to first become the BeachBoys with all their poppiness around the Summerteeth album.
  22. Quadrophenia, Who by #s, etc
  23. Steering this thread back to the title topic, I'm really digging the recent Costello disc the Delivery Man. After listening to it and some of the reissues, I gotta say it is one of his very best. I only wish I had seen them when they played here a month ago!
  24. exactly what I was thinking, Chuck
