    I just picked up the Live at the Gate 1961 from member Ken-released in 2019; it's in the cue. Another Getz I like is his collaboration with Almeida released a few years after it was recorded. I find his playing truly exciting for lack of a better word.

    Terrific player and a nice guy-saw him several times back in the day and with Jimmy Heath. He told me he preferred percussion to the trumpet. Sadly, RIP

    We saw Evans in Baltimore recently-liked most of what we heard. Atonal at times but then quite melodic. Excellent band with Smitty Smith on drums providing real drive. Evans gave his band plenty of room and everyone was having a great time.

    We saw the orchestra last Sunday-fortunately no cell phones ringing! For $45 a tik, we enjoyed 5th row center seats. This has to be the best value in classical music.

    I bought a Desmond Toronto set Mosaic found somewhere but it lacked the backing card of Disc VII which someone here kindly sent me a photo copy. On a whim, I reached out to Scott and he replied he would sent the missing card. Thanks Scott!!

    My friend Lani Spahr's remastering has continued to receive recognition. I'm working my way through a number of discs he gifted me. His restoration efforts are superb. Elgar, Vaughn Williams and Solti are only a few artists he has brought back to life. Highly recommended!

    Heath Brothers-Live at the Public Theater. Marvelous album and I was fortunate to meet a mastering engineer who digitized it for me.

    I met Bertrand years ago but I doubt he remembers. I've met David Weiss at a Cookers show and we've exchanged a few emails.
