  1. I picked up the book some years ago used and it's indeed great. Created an enorous passion for the label for me. The DVD confirms my feelings for the label (European Blue Note imo). Does anyone have the Cicero box which came out recently as well? Great too if you're into this type of jazz.
  2. No laughs at all. Mine is on it's way to my home already. Looking forward to the set.
  3. Hello all, just wondering why this Emarcy LP isn't on LP (not even one Japanese issue if I'm correct). Is it that bad?
  4. Leon Henderson couldn't handle the pressure of being the Great saxophonists brother so he stopt playing altogether after some more playing (and album) with Cox. Just noticed a track from 1983 in the Lord disco also with Cox.
  5. Thanks MwtGA but I've tried to use my portable horn 78' player on a plane and I was removed and put in custody for being a terorist so my only option left for music on a plane is an iPod with in ear headphones I'm afraid.......Or do you suggest something else (I already have the iPod so that's a done case).
  6. Anyone hear these: Shure E500's? Quite expensive but worth it?
  7. but it's not as good as having the real thing........
  8. Yes I have seen it, felt it and heard it. So you must know by now I actually HAVE it (SRGS-4519). Since HMV doesn't list it anymore it's OOP I guess. Of course this now is the best sounding SACD ever.......(that'll teach you Son)
  9. If Chuck's right (don't see any reason to doubt this) we are all very lucky to have this "first Editions" prints in our collection!!!!
  10. Do you know what's on the DVD? CD universe doesn't even list it as having a DVD at all.
  11. Lon: how does an accordian sound? Is he or she a good player?
  12. To my knowledge Components wasn't released in Japan at all on cd.
  13. That's the one Claude. (the ENJA to be clear). I guess that one isn't so wobbly or is it.
  14. I believe LP but didn't listen that closely. To be honest I don't like the music at all.
  15. Just received the cd. It's a home made cover for a cd-r. So that says it all. Nice of him to send it to me anyway.
  16. Reinier says?????? Reinier posted you mean, MC said!!!!!
  17. Since Larry Grenadier and Jeff Ballard are also present it's unlikely it like 1+1 or the Missouri Sky. Looking forward to this release.
  18. I don't know but it's possible he altered the pictures of the cover for the web site. Easily done with photoshop or something similar. Let's wait and I'll post a report of the cd when it arrives.
  19. Hello all, I'm selling these new and sealed A-Records CD's. Dutch jazz label (now as good as OOB) with great US musicians. Charles Pillow and Dave Pietro. If interested please look here: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZcartonsle...1QQfsooZ1QQrdZ0
  20. To answer all the questions I've mailed him and asked if I could buy this CD from him. I usually don't post private emails but this one is so special I'll post it and it clears up everything as well: Dear Reinier, you reminded me of something! I´m a jazzmusician just as you (trombonist and singer)and was a friend of Kai Winding. In the sixties I bought the LP "Israel" and heard it very very often. When I met Kai the last time he told me that I could buy a CD of this production privately in the USA and so I did for a hell of money. Now I thought that there will be any jazzmusicians in Germany who are interested in this CD too. But there ain´t any. After years you are the first one who ordered it. So this will be a present of mine and the CD will disappear from my page. Give me your adress and you will get it. Keep swinging Knut Kiesewetter How nice don't you think!!!!!
  21. yes one summer batch. I didn't say there would be 2 did I?
  22. I can't seem to find it on the net (besides through this NFR site). Strange, never heard of them.
  23. I have cd's of more than 82 minutes so don't worrie.
  24. who on earth would have all of these to compare them in the first place?
  25. The Cox LP's will fit on 1 CD (that's what I meant with twofer i.e. 2 LP's on 1 CD). What 10" is there to issued besides the Urbie Green? There's nothing to combine it with so that's the problem with this session (free after MC).
