  1. Thanks! I'll probably take you up on the offer.
  2. She was thinking about the "Muse" in Time's Square?
  3. If you think driving in the Northeast and Midwest for deer is bad, you should check out Northern Ontario and Newfoundland (only Moose here)!! That's frickin' treacherous!!!! Hell, I bet moose and deer out number human beings in that neck of the woods. Seriously, you're lucky neither one of you was hurt. Thanks goodness, it was just your car. All the best.
  4. Hey Folks, My girlfriend and I will be travelling to the big smoke in October (Autumn In New York?), and she's been insistent that I post on here months in advance so she can plan our trip (3 days). Feel Free to Post: Favorite hotels Favorite restaurants Favorite Used CD Stores (for me) Favorite theatres (for her) Favorite jazz clubs Favorite art galleries Favorite cafes Favorite museums....heck FAVORITE ANYTHING!! Thanks!
  5. I use to own the unreleased Jemini the Gifted One EP on Capital as well, but I never got into him too much. I guess the LPs I miss the most are the Gang Starr's and Tribe Called Quest's. Well, okay, and the Showbiz & AG records as well. Other than that, I'm a born again jazz fan!
  6. That I.N.I. album, like the Large Professor "LP", was released as promo only. There are official label releases (Elektra or East West? & Geffen) out there, as I once owned both of them. I would say the rarest hiphop record I ever had was a test pressing of BDP's "Poetry" single. I bought it and immediately traded it to the Masters at Work DJ, Kenny Dope, for five singles and five complete LPs. These included: "93' Till Infinity" Blue Wax LP, Diamind D's first LP, Special Ed's "I Got It Made" orginal 12", and a few others. That was probably the greatest trade I have ever made!! It was pretty cool having him tell me he owned a house full of records with three copies of nearly everything. It's no wonder he didn't even flinch when I asked for that much in return. Unfortunately, I no longer listen to hiphop (or LPs) and thus traded/sold most of my stuff to a local Toronto DJ. -_-
  7. Surely, the most difficult Pete Rock record to find is the unreleased I.N.I. album!
  8. Well, I just completed my Horace Parlan Blue Note collection, and am one away from Turrentine, so count me in!
  9. I actually think his Pacific Jazz material is superior, particularly the sessions with Les McCann. Those albums groove hard!!!
  10. I wasn't really feeling this album, believe it or not. I'm a big Groove Holmes fan, but this music was slightly more fast paced then I would've liked. I sold it soon after. Just an opinion.
  11. Sent PM. re: John Jenkins/Kenny Burrell.
  12. Sent PM. Re: Meet The Jazztet
  13. Forget how many times you visit here...think about HOW MUCH YOU SPEND as a result of this place!! Now that's insane!
  14. Anybody have anything to give for this badboy? Make an offer.
  15. Paul — I'll miss the trades, but this new job will at least give you some time to listen to the music that you have before you are convinced into buying/trading more. All the best with the new gig. BTW, that's alot of travel time for you now, is it not? P.S. That Thad Jones disc is great! I'm surprised you pulled the trigger on that badboy.
  16. Japanese Mini LP here...great sound; a real gem!!
  17. Now that's an impressive set up!!!! B)
  18. Another vote for "Blues in Trinity." It might set you back a bit these days (JRVG only), but it's worth the moolah. B)
  19. I never see any mention of Junior Mance on this board, so I figured I'd start a thread to see what everyone thinks of him. When I personally think of Mance, the name Dizzy Reece comes to mind. Sure, they don't even play the same instrument, but the point is that both men were unfortunately, and undeservedly, relegated to obscurity behind some of the giants of the piano and trumpet. I have four discs including "Junior," "Soulful Piano of Junior Mance," "Live at the Village Vanguard," and "Happy Time." Great stuff, IMHO! Check it out if you get a chance.
  20. Ahh, the life in the mid-west...time to move, brother!!!
  21. Marcus, Do you mean the plain Blue Note? This wasn't released as a Rare Groove. Maybe, you're thinking of "The Right Touch," or "I Don't Care Who Knows It."
  22. What is it that you want? Maybe, someone from the board can help you out.
  23. Boy, you must want whatever it is very badly. Those prices are high!!!!!
  24. You know I never really got into that record...sometimes there can be just too much Miles. I use to have over 50 discs by him, but I've cut it down to the six that I think are essential (those listed in my first post + "Bitches Brew"). All Miles is great though...one day I'll get back into the second Quintet.
