  1. I've been listening to this on Spotify today and will be placing an order with Amazon in the coming days. I'll let the experts decide how this ranks versus his other live dates. All I can say is that the band sounds great! If you're a fan, I am pretty certain you're going to enjoy this.
  2. Well, a great McCoy Tyner release in my mind circa 1970 on Blue Note would be the release Extensions. Not easily available, but well worth searching out for. I guess while I'm at it Lou Donaldson's The Scorpion is another fine release.
  3. I imagine this has been discussed here at some length prior, but I couldn't seem to find anything. While my collection of Blue Note releases is heavily weighted from the early/mid 50's to mid 1960's, a much smaller part is dedicated to the labels later sessions of the late 60's/very early 70's output. Yes, I own a couple Grant Green dates, Lee Morgan 's Live @ The Lighthouse among others. I've also picked up a couple of little gems recently which wouldn't be on someone's immediate radar but are quite good. Examp!e Lou Donaldson's Midnight Creeper and Duke Pearson's The Phantom. I guess what I am asking is what are some lesser known releases which deserve some love? I also just started listening to Jimmy McGriff's session The Worm, which gives you a better idea where I am headed. I am quite enjoying that! Thoughts are always appreciated. Let me also add, it seems that the Blue Note Rare Groove Series could also be apart of the discussion since I am also curious about those releases from the same time period more or less.
  4. I own 3 presently. Flight To Denmark, Two Loves(a recent purchase) and Misty Thursday. I'm also thinking of getting the session with Charlie Rouse and Richard Williams which sounded good to my ears. Anything else one would consider must haves? Thanks.
  5. Sad to read this. I was a latecomer to the label. The early recordings for the label were at the very least very good if not great. Thank you Mr. Teekens for all the great music you added to my life.
  6. Sad to hear about this. I want to say I spoke with John via Skype some years back. May he rest in peace.
  7. Looks like I may have to check out that one. Hi John! Long time.
  8. I picked up a used copy of this awhile back and have finally gotten around to listening to this. Really nice!!! Antonio Hart, Chris Potter. Alex Sipiagin, Gary Smulyan, Steve Nelson to name a few on this ECM release from 2002. What do you guys think?
  9. Pretty much says it all. Last time I checked they made 3 Volumes of these mega sets. Don't own any of them. Although I own a number of single disc issues. My preference would be the first two volumes. If anyone wants to unburden themselves, I may be an interested party. You know how to reach me. Thanks.
  10. I just finished listening to this on Spotify and thought what a real nice session. Bobby Hutcherson playing along with Duke Pearson really makes this for me. A latin tinge to this session. Fine date. What do you guys think? I realise this was included on the Mosaic select. Is this the best of that compilation? Thoughts appreciated.
  11. Anyone wishing to part with a CD version? Please PM
  12. That was friggin' amazing. Thanks for sharing.
  13. Just curious. What would you ask for an outright sell of this release?
  14. Don't know how many of you saw the final round, but it was epic. So happy for Tiger Woods!
  15. With help from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. OMG, I really love this!
